  1. Would bres-slow have any interest in signing bassit? He may be a 5th starter, but his stuff is still decent!!
  2. It is not about how he did in 2025, it is a gamble to see how close he gets back to his previous form! most of the scouts think his stuff will tighten up in year 2 and have the sharp breaks it had previously
  3. With an average of 177 innings over the past three years, I am not worried about gray’s height. however I am worried that his fastball got hit pretty hard last year!
  4. Bres-slow said he was after a number 2 pitcher and a big bat! he has a number 2 pitcher in gray. he has prospects, Duran, hicks, yoshida and cutter as trade assets! the New York radio guys say he asked Texas about Corey seiger???? free agent bres-slow is linked to is realmuto. some believe Alonso may go unsigned and fall into our lap
  5. MLB ranked the top free agents. But did not list us as a player for Alonso.
  6. What is bres-slow’s game plan here? Why trade for a 1 and done pitcher? His last 3 trades have cost us a lot of prospects for 3 one and done pitchers???
  7. The market for starting pitching continues to get more and more expensive! 1.) crochet 2.) tbd 3.) gray 4.) bello 4.) Sandoval/early/dobbins
  8. Maybe bres-slow should be forbidden to trade with the dodgers going forward!!!!!!
  9. Does bres-slow call Miami about alcanterra this offseason?
  10. 1.) hang’em Chaim used a lot of draft capital on middle infielders, especially left handed hitting middle infielders 2.) while bres-slow kept drohan and uberstine, he was willing to part with Mullins???? Curious to know the thinking on this!!!!
  11. With Anthony in left, rafeala in center and abreau in right, that is a solid defensive lineup. Solid also against right handed pitchers and mediocre at best against left handed pitching Duran as the DH and yoshida being paid by us to play for Sacramento!!! I can live with this for the 2026 season!
  12. A bit extreme don’t you think? Hang’em Chaim was building an incredible left handed hitting farm system! And then he trades for one of the few right handed hitters of any value in our system. Hang’m was a strange guy to say the least! Sadly, I still do not understand his pitching acquisition philosophy though!!!
  13. If only we still had blaze Jordan????
  14. I call dibs on azocar being the next guy to take a leap up the rankings
  15. We have 4 players for 3 positions because Anthony has to play everyday and fortunately he can play all three outfield spots. abreau has not proven to me that he can hit left handed pitching. the others rotate based on who the opposing pitcher is and if we are at home or away
  16. Cora said 2026 is the year abreau proves he is a full time outfielder or just a platoon guy! not many platoon guys have 2 gold gloves!! is 2026 the high water mark for abreau’s value?
  17. And if Sandoval contributes in the bullpen in 2026, is that ending the streak???
  18. How about for 2026, we acquire two quality starting pitchers, and keep all our current outfielders instead!!!
  19. As far as I know none of our internal options come with much experience. And all our internal options need a little more time in the minors to tighten up secondaries so they can be quality contributors in Boston by September!!!!
  20. Tactics available to acquire starting pitching: Option 1 - try to compete against the Mets, dodgers and Yankees for premium free agent pitching? Good luck with that option!!! Limited competition from other teams, but the teams competing are monsters with deep pockets! option 2 - trade quality prospects for premium pitching. Great strategy if you have the prospects. Bres-slow hit a home run in 2025 with this strategy. All teams want to compete, but the quality of the prospects decides the success rate! option 3 - scan the waiver wire as well as take a flyer on rule 5 prospects!! Aka hang’em Chaim’s preferred strategy!!! Limited competition from other teams if you use this strategy. option 4 - sign guys coming off major injury and hope they can contribute. Again limited competition from other teams if you use this strategy. option 5 - draft/international signing and develop starting pitching. The preferred method of all teams. Long lead times involved in this strategy. But complete control by each team and only competition is at draft/international signing time. option 6 - sign any leftover free agents not signed by the Mets, dodgers or Yankees! Serious competition in this strategy and while most pitchers in this category have a low ceiling. Teams hope they sign someone with a high floor!!!! See buehler as an example of why hope is not always a good strategy in golf or in acquiring starting pitchers this is why we should at the very least call Atlanta about sale’s availability.
  21. Wong was injured for most of 2025. I think he had surgery after the season.
  22. That is true, 1 year deals to 10 plus year veterans is not a bad thing! Wilson was signed on a one year deal and he pitched better than I ever thought possible.
  23. Does Casas “nut up” and become a locker room cancer if Wong starts getting innings at first base???
