  1. The secret formula is good pitching, solid defense and timely hitting. As current constitutes our roster is; Pitching 6 out of 10. Defense 4 out of 10. Hitting 8.5 out of 10. If all weight evenly, you have to ask yourself….. Is a 6.13 good enough to make the playoffs?
  2. We lost one game because eovaldi was over throwing. We lost today because they tried to go an extra inning with houck, who struggled to locate. Let’s hope Rodriguez is the yankee killer he has been in the past. Then the fair weather fans will be be on the bandwagon.
  3. When I watch him play, he seems to almost always put the ball in play. I know he is older, can’t play defense and is not a power guy, but I keep rooting for him to get a chance in Boston, because he does have a decent hit tool.
  4. Big game tonight against cole. Let’s hope he is throwing some beachballs tonight.
  5. Does granberg start next year at triple a?
  6. Cassas with a triple tonight and two runs driven in so far!
  7. I agree 100 percent.
  8. There is no doubt in my mind that Hang’em Chaim and his analytics department are more than capable of finding two catchers that offensively out perform this year’s group, but my gut says they bring him back next year.
  9. Compared to last year, exceeding 90 wins this year is an incredible accomplishment!
  10. I had the Sox finishing the year at 88 wins and they could be there by the end of the night! If Barnes does not throw this game away.
  11. That is about what I was expecting. And I know that is what the gun says, but he looks like 90-92! Mets looked like they were digging in against him.
  12. How much of his decline in offense is due to overuse? He had a stretch to this season where he played too much and his numbers suffered.
  13. As long as they are winning, who cares what color uniforms they wear. Wins make whatever they wear tolerable.
  14. Watching sale pitch tonight and I am noticing two things: 1.) the velocity is not what I expected. 2.) right handed hitters are really seeing his ball well and making fairly loud contact.
  15. Cassas and Cordero with taters tonight,
  16. Not brazier? I can see the opposing hitters smiling right now. Meanwhile the jays and Yankees are ordering playoff tickets.
  17. We got pivetta and sale!
  18. They definitely know how to identify quality pitchers and develop them. We definitely know how to overdraft stiffs and pray we can make them into relievers.
  19. I see Hang’em Chaim offering Rodriguez a q.o., but I doubt Rodriguez takes it and eventually somebody over pays for him. We get a draft pick. Yes I think Hang’em Chaim signs a four pitchers, but they will be wholly based on analytics. Hang’em Chaim and his guys are looking specifically for pitchers with success the first two times through a line up. And then he wants to get to the point where he can send in the piggy back starter that can get them the third time through the line up. And then he has the game enders. I think his ideal pitching staff would be; 5 starters (sale, pivetta, eovaldi, tbd, tbd) 3 piggy back starters - multiple up to 3 inning relievers.(Houck, Whitlock, Richards) 6 relievers (Barnes, Taylor, Hernandez, sawumura, tbd, tbd)
  20. We got to theme the remainder of this season one game at a time. Got to beat the mets on Tuesday.
  21. We got a logjam of second basemen in the system. Downs Cannon Yorke McDonough Koss Plus some others I have missed. Should be interesting to see how hang’em Chaim handles this going forward.
  22. Cassas with a tater today!
  23. I am hopeful that hang’em Chaim gets us a deeper bullpen next season and few depth guts stashed at triple a.
  24. In this scenario we are sacrificing a ton of depth and we are not a deep team.
