The difference is his swing appears shorter this year

Mayer looks really confident at the plate. Barreling up a lot of balls. Low and outside seems to be difficult for him

Kavadas with 2 taters, a double and hit by pitch twice!!!!! I good day, but a painful day
  4. Larry Cook
McGuire and Wong are really getting some good swings! Looks like they really like pitches inside

I noticed that as well. Many of our hitters stumbled out the starting blocks. Paulino looks like he is a bit more patient this year.

Young players (abreau, rafeala, and cassas) have growing pains. Bad fielders (Hamilton, Reyes, Valdez and devers) destroy pitching staffs

Penrod with a whale of a game!!! Wow!!!
  8. Larry Cook
    Wong is on fire!!!!!!

Move Mayer to third and trade yoshida for a bag of used baseballs? Make devers a very expensive DH? I like your plan!

I think abreau could end up being the second best of our outfielders.

If all three, Mayer, Anthony, and teel are in our starting lineup in April 2025, it means we need to move McGuire and story! If bres-slow has an opportunity to move O’Neil for controllable quality bullpen help in July, we should take it
  12. Larry Cook
    And abreau?
  13. Larry Cook
Mayer is not ready yet! Low and outside, he struggles to lay off it but cannot hit it
  14. Larry Cook
    And where does Anthony play?
  15. Larry Cook
Mayer is the real deal! Dude is really putting together some great swings!

I see huge issues with the bullpen and infield defense. I am sticking with 70 wins for 2024. I remain hopeful that Martin, Jansen, pivetta and O’Neil have new homes in July.

In the few AA games we have had this season, I have been most impressed with Mayer! His swing looks great and he appears to be picking up the spin on the ball!! Still too early to tell, but he has been impressive so far

I love mayer’s swing! He could be an all star if he can stay healthy
  19. Larry Cook
Anthony is two for five so far tonight
  20. Larry Cook
Kavadas with 6 walks and 4 strikeouts on the young season.
  21. Larry Cook
After ten games, O’Neil with 5 taters, and 5 RBI. Rafeala with zero taters and 5 RBI.

    Thanks for clarifying

We have incredible infield depth a year or two away!!! !
  24. Larry Cook
    Small sample size! Cold weather
  25. Larry Cook
Our lineup is barely one deep! Injuries are going to be an issue all year
