I got 70 wins max!

One of the reporters had said the budget was reduced to 200 million this year. Have you heard any different?

Seems to me ownership no longer wants to be year to year high payroll winners. Starting with cherrington, they want the gm’s to try to build something sustainable through the farm system, but ownership does not seem to understand that is a huge lengthy process and it is very difficult to stay competitive while building a sustainable farm system. Add in our complete inability to develop starting pitchers and you see why we roll through GM’s very quickly! I liked hang’em Chaim’s ability to find hitters. But he seemed to crack under the stress of trying to stay competitive. I like brez-slow’s trades so far. But seems to me, he has decided to completely forego winning to finish building the farm ownership appears to have put us on a 200 million dollar per year budget. This means the farm has to produce a lot of position players and bullpen arms because we need budget for the rotation! Right now in 2024 we are not there yet!

Last year, we had the second worst defense in all of baseball and you are correct, we had major base running problems! Seems like we just improve in those two areas and we can get a couple extra wins this year!

Just curious if you have your top 25 going into training camp last year. Seems like we added some talented prospects since last year.

How many in total can we realistically trade at the deadline?

Duran and O’Neil seem like trade targets along with gioletta, janson and Martin

Will we move Duran to San Diego for a similar high A starter with mid rotation starter stuff???

What did they see in Sandin that made them think this was a good trade ???? He reminds me of the college arm that looks good in A ball and flames out in double aa ball. If double aa hitters lay off the splitter (or cutter) he will walk more batters than winkleman

One of the writers was speculating that the budget was reduced from 225 million to 200 million for 2024!

I saw him at Virginia and his throws to second were super impressive! I seem to remember closer to 3/4 than side arm

I hope Martin stays. I liked his stuff last year. I do not know how he was successful, but he was.

With sale and Paxton gone, what are the trainers going to be doing this spring? Catching up on sleep?

Maybe Peaz takes a leap this year, but his ceiling is bullpen arm to me.

I have been lucky enough to see A Castro and Brannon live. I like both as hitters and think they have above bat to ball skills. (Keep in mind, small sample size) I did not see anything that makes me think they are above average defensively (again small sample size) A Castro is more of a line drive hitter. Brannon has some power, but is injured more than Chris sale.

If the budget is indeed 200 million, then we have a little tiny bit more to cut. This means trades are needed. Is bres-slow waiting for spring training injuries on other teams to unclog our outfield and find a starter or two?

By July, we could be 20 games out of playoff contention. What assets do we have that we could get some value on the trade market? Jansen? Martin? O’Neil? Pivetta? Gioletta? Brez-slow could have a long year ahead of him!
