    If you want some examples of the bad 1 yr deals I speak of here are just a few. Walker Buehler, Alex Bregman [ certainly not worth 40 million}, i know i am missing several more as well as the P e signed for 2 years of which mostdidnt add any value. But keep saying JH isn't being cheap.

    You are overlooking all the poor 1 year deals simply because they are only 1 yr deals but they all add up with IKF at 6 million being the most recent of a string of bad 1 yr deals. Breslow has also made some bad FA 2 yr signings on SP who are not able to pitch the first year of the deal. This is all WASTED money but it keeps the payroll up leading guys like you to say JH is not being cheap. Actually he is.

    it gets us slightly under the 2nd payroll level so I will let you guess if it is spent or pocketed.

    I would not be trading Duran to upgrade the 2B position. I'd just stick to the in-house guys we currently have. Duran has too many good attributes and i have seen that he is projected by some to have a 30 SB-30 HR season this year. I keep him. Abreu goes before him IMO but I'm not sure I even deal him for a 2B not named Marte. We have a surplus of SP we could deal from but I do not put Bello in that group. You seem to be high on Sandavol and maybe the guy we got from the Pirates. No way in he$$ do any of Tolle, Early, or Witherspoon for a 2B. Now if we were somehow able to pry Skubul out of Detroit....

    The BEST thing Breslow has done has been to focus on the pitching.

    they have a surplus of SP so they will probably just move a starter or 2 to the pen.

    Breslow is NOT a stiff. He has done a very good job building up the pitching depth both at the Major league level also on the farm. This has been lacking for years. His attempt to add a quality 2B or 3B has been hampered by JH and his budget. Mayer can handle either 2B or 3B.

    If we trade Mayer for Keaschell I will personally drive Breslow to the airport and JH will probably loan me his limo for the drive BUT ONLY IF I PAY FOR THE GAS !!
