well.....you'd think some of these geneuseses would look at the pitchers of yesteryear and think "hmmmm.....maybe we should emphasize command, movement and efficiency rather than throwing as hard as you f***ing can every pitch". naaaaah.
tomorrow Brez will announce that he's signing Dustbin to a 12 year, $144m deal, so he can "lock him up" and thereby save JOhn Henry some money. because, ya' know....that's winning to that old f***.
no sir....we knew we had some good prospects and could have kept them and signed Fried, but hellf***ingno, gotta save Henry's money. this team is a gotdamn trainwreck from top to bottom and it will take years to clean up this steaming pile of s***.
they should have hired Don Mattingly, who has led his team to the best record in baseball since taking over the Phillies one day after Rob Thomson was fired and two days after Alex Cora was fired.
they definitely need to sell; the ship is sinking fast. my only concern with selling is Breslow's ability to make trades and judge talent. much of our highly ranked farm from a year ago is either underperforming on an epic scale (for the Red Sox) or traded away and meeting or exceeding expectations elsewhere.
meanwhile, Crochet is on the 60 day IL for "lat tightness" after a horrendous ST and all of 6 starts (4 of them being awful) on this season. "lat tightness", yeah, sure. 😂
Crochet will do nothing until October and then at that point, they'll determine he needs surgery, which will be scheduled for next spring. then he will miss all of next year and part of the next.
