  1. exactly. this guy has been crap since the day he showed up. this POS makes Barnsey and Bra man look good.
  2. why would JH only give him $20M? is JH really that f***ing greedy?
  3. i've done that myself. have fun.
  4. teams with great hitting and pitching can overcome s***** defense. like the 2004 and 2018 Sox teams you mentioned earlier. the pitching staff on this team is so bad, they can't afford the extra outs given up by the defense. i don't know why it's so hard for you to understand this.
  5. this makes too much sense. which means it will never happen.
  6. now we're talkin'.
  7. this post and the one before clearly point out Bloom's poor decision making/incompetence. thanks.
  8. during a Red Sox series in Arlington in the early 90's, i met and visited with Dewey in the hotel dining area. super nice guy. he even asked me to join his table for drinks. i said thanks and politely declined. never met Doerr. saw Ted at a baseball card convention in Memphis, also in the early 90's.
  9. my brother asked him that! Mr Rice said "yes, it's true" and that he actually did it twice and once with a golf club.
  10. LOL....my favorite player of all time. how could i forget all those double plays? he led the league for four years from '82-'85 and holds the single season record of 36. i've never met him and would never mention it if i did. my brother met him a couple years ago and said he's one of the nicest ballplayers he's ever met.
  11. Yoshida grounds into his 19th double play of the season. after looking it up, i was a little surprised that he's only tied for 5th in GIDP. Correa is tops with 28(!) and Bogey is at third with 20.
  12. i'm guessing you think it's JH being the tight wad. i have no idea. but....if it is JH, then yeah, i'd like an owner who isn't afraid to spend some money. a multi-billionaire afraid to spend $6-10M. AYSM?? sure, he's spent $$$ in the past but maybe he's changed. and as far as Bloom spending or not spending $6-10M, i'm of the belief that he's so incompetent that it is certainly within the realm of possibility that he didn't for whatever idiotic reason.
  13. if that's the case, then i wish JH would sell the team and pocket the billions his ego so desperately craves.
  14. i couldn't agree more with every one of your posts today. and as bad as everything is, unless Bloom is fired NOW, we're going to put up with this crap for another year.
  15. the wife and i had made plans to go up to KC for all three Sox games this weekend. good thing fate intervened. i'd hate to know i paid good money to watch this s*** show.
  16. is somebody going to teach them how to pitch?
  17. the Sox have 2 hits and no walks against a pitcher with record of 3-15, a -1.6 WAR, and a 6.51 ERA. unreal.
  18. i wouldn't be surprised. Bloom needs to draft another high school prospect that may or may not make it to the Bigs in the next 10 years.
  19. 2nd inning and getting blown out by the second worst team in all of baseball. nice job BLoom. you've picked some real winners.
  20. bases loaded and no outs. like the rest of the team, Paxton just packing it in.
  21. this is true. i have no idea what his value is but if we could unload him and all of his salary, i'd do it.
  22. he was thinking it, i'm sure.
  23. he was traded for pitching.
  24. i'm sure it would. thereby proving what many said to begin with -that Bloom overpaid for him.
