you'd think, but as far as they've fallen the last month, they might be getting desperate. they were 10 games up on the Astros (and 12 games over .500) on June 18, now they're 1 game back and 2 games over.
the Mariners have a surplus of pitching, but like you said, they can't score runs. they just called up five of their best AAA prospects (all position players) due to injuries and a hope that some of them will help their struggling offense. teams would be smart to offer them offense for some of their pitching.
yeah, trade all the s***** motherf***ers on this team that aren't producing - Casas, Story, Yoshida, hell...everybody but Devers, Houk, Crawford and Duran. And maybe O'Neill.
and to get those guys, you'd have to do what DD was always accused of but never really did -"destroy the farm". i guess we'll see how smart Brez really is the next 10 days.
i'd rather buy a FA this winter than deal part of the future. of those listed, i could part with Mayer. but that's it, unless it was a lesser prospect.
