  1. i agree. not that i'd want to trade either, but....i'd trade Devers before i'd trade Duran.
  2. he's St. Louis's problem now. glad i'm not a Cardinals fan.
  3. yeah, i don't think so. Duran has an 8.7 bWAR while Gilbert's is the same as Kutter Crawford's. and Kirby's is even less.
  4. i'd give up Mayer & Abreu for Gilbert or Kirby. i'd even give up Casas for either of them and move Devers to first as you suggested earlier. the Mariner's definitely have pitching capital to spend. i think they would need and want Casas more than Mayer. they have a really good SS in AA named Cole Young that is their version of Mayer with very similar stats. and he doesn't seem to be injury-prone like Mayer.
  5. no f***ing way i'd trade Anthony for Crochet. no f***ing way.
  6. it's all part of the sham. and an incompetent FO.
  7. a team's ranking in fWAR is almost a perfect reflection of their current standing in their respective division. the AL West matches perfectly. the AL East matches except TB and TOR are reversed. i said almost. the AL Central has the WhiteSox last, obviously, and the Royals and Tigers at 2 and 3. However, the Guardians and Twinkies are flipped. The Twins have the highest fWAR in the Central (and 3rd highest in the AL) while CLE comes in at 4. yet, unless a miracle happens, the Twins will miss the playoffs. in the NL, everything is a perfect match except for ATL and NYM, which are flipped. but they may change after tonite. so...to answer your question: yes, they pretty much match dead on. and if they are any kind of prediction, the Phillies and Yankees will meet in the WS. i would also note that PHI has the highest fWAR in all of MLB. their GM must know what he's doing. too bad we don't have someone like that. ALEast NYY 47.9, BAL 43.6, BOS 35.2, TOR 30.5, TBR 28.2 ALCentral MIN 41.6, KC 40.4, DET 36.0, CLE 35.4, CHI 3.0 ALWest HOU 39.0, SEA 36.7, TEX 26.6, OAK 24.7, CAL 13.8 NLEast PHI 49.2, ATL 40.4, NYM 39.5, WAS 25.5, MIA 13.8 NLCentral MIL 40.0, CHI 36.1, STL 31.0, CIN 26.1, PIT 20.3 NLWest LAD 46.0, SDP 45.8, ARZ 45.2, SFG 39.8 COL 8.8
  8. looks like Henry is (deservedly) reaping the rewards of being a tightwad POS.
  9. i don't understand why anyone would make that trade for Detmers. i might trade WInk for him but even that seems like a lateral move to me.
  10. don't worry, Bresslow will sign Dom Smith to pitch out of the bullpen. his major minimum salary will fit right in with Henry's budget.
  11. winning games is fun. but maybe i just have higher expectations. i'm not happy with winning half the games because winning just half means you're not in the playoffs. spin it any way you want but this season was another avoidable disaster thanks to FO mis-managment and incompetence.
  12. i'll be the first to disagree. losing sucks and the Sox are making a habit of it thanks to John "Scrooge" Henry and the brown-nosing morons in his front office. if (and i don't expect it to happ;en) they don't add any pitching this winter, it will be more of the same next year. The Curse of Mookie lives on.
  13. i may be in the minority, but i hate the yellow jerseys. they're ugly and nothing but a marketing gimmick. the end.
  14. once upon a time, i expected the Sox to finish first or second. now, Henry has so lowered expectations that .500 is acceptable. LOL.
  15. Zeferjahn has performed better for the Angels than Garcia has for the Sox. LOLOL...another great move by the morons in the Sox front office.
  16. yeah, everyone loved him then, but people change and like Bell said, somewhere around 2019, he lost his mind. he hung himself when he traded Mookie, fired DD, cut the budget, etc. screw Henry. i hate the sumbitch.
  17. i wonder what kind of pitching we could get for Devers or Casas. i don't want to trade either but i wouldn't get butt-hurt if we traded Casas.
  18. you'd think that with as much money as Henry spends on analytics and some people actually bragging about how Brezslow has done a great job "rebuiling the analytics department", and Cora being such a "genius", that one of these morons would know this. clearly not.
  19. if you have to pay 60-70% of his salary for another team to take him off your hands....he's a liabilty.
  20. worst contract in baseball. makes Yoshi's deal with the Sox seem almost decent in comparison.
  21. per ESPN, the Sox playoff chances are currently at a robust 2.7%. yeah, they're done. and have been since the AS break.
  22. if he wants to play for a contender, he won't be signing with the Sox as Henry no longer cares if the Sox contend.
