I don’t believe Raffy has started full scale defensive drills yet to next week, but it was reported in real time that Raffy working out at 3B this morning. As Cora has said Raffy is behind in his conditioning.

Yes I heard both. NESN is the Red Sox station, and the other one is not. NESN, and TC are nowhere near as opinionated as the other station.

Exactly! One of the worst ideas I’ve heard many times over is for there to be a time share at 1B/DH between Raffy, and Casas. IMO that would be a bad idea, because whomever plays there needs the work there EVERYDAY. It would not help anyone defensively to rotate, and Casas, or Raffy would need all the work they could get. To me a time share would complicate things even more.

Yes I know those things have happened, but I meant no actions on who is playing where have been decided yet.

Well the mood on this site is pretty much what’s out, and about in other places, but like I said except for some words here, and there no actions have taken place yet.

At this point there has been plenty of smoke, but no fire. To me NOTHING unexpected has happened yet, and the start of the season is still over a month away.

Cora gave a long ahh when asked about Raffy’s condition, and finally said he’s behind on his conditioning, so read into that whatever you want outside of him being in A1 condition.

I legitimately wouldn’t even try to get into Casas mind.

Maybe, but you never know what Casas will say, or do.

Casas has now put in his half a cent worth in saying that Raffy should stay at 3B, and Bregman should be at second. Said he wouldn’t take anyone else over Raffy at 3B. It’s a must listen that only Casa could do.🙈🤭.

No disagreement at all, but I can see fully why Devers feels, or felt the way he does. So far Devers hasn’t done anything, but made a few comments. I did hear someone say yesterday who was down at the Fort that Raffy looks heavy.

He had already spoken to Cora, and Brez privately on Friday, so thinking about it over the weekend hadn’t softened his stance. I see nothing wrong with him telling his feelings when asked by reporters. It shouldn’t have been a Surprise to Anyone what he said,

Do you really think that, because Bregman has been around as long as Devers (ALL WITH ANOTHER TEAM) that he should have equal status with Raffy on the Red Sox who signed as a teenager, and has spent his whole career with them. I don’t know what Bregman was told with his negotiations with the Red Sox, but voluntarily going to a new team he should be willing to do what is asked of him. That doesn’t make him a better pro, or teammate IMO. You said Bogey was a bad teammate for not moving off SS for Story, and I disagree. I don’t think Bogey was a bad teammate, and I don’t think Raffy is a bad teammate either up to this point. I didn’t expect Raffy to just voluntarily hand 3B over to Bregman especially since he thinks as highly of himself as a 3B, and what he was told by the RED SOX when he signed his big contract. I’ll repeat what he was told by the RED SOX.

I agree. For Cora to say there is new leadership now, and Bloom is in St. Louis was not was not a good statement to make to soothe the situation.

Well said. Bregman is a good player, but he’s no Mike Schmidt, or Manny with the bat either. Raffy’s actions was predictable as predictable can be in this case, but how it turns out isn’t.

Right now Raffy feels betrayed, and lied to, and it even appears blindsided. It doesn’t matter to him who told him he’d be the Red Sox 3B for a long time. Bloom, Cora or Brez. To him it was the Boston Red Sox. For Cora to say Bloom isn’t here anymore is how he sees, but not Raffy. Bregman may have been around as long as Raffy, but that was with another team, and most likely that matters nothing to Raffy.. Raffy’s been in the organization since he was a teenager. Unfortunately for the zRed Sox Raffy sees himself as a better 3B than everyone else, but that’s how he sees it. Cora wasn’t surprised by Raffy’s reaction, and neither should anyone else be. He does not seem like the pouting type? Obviously you haven’t seen Raffy stay at 3B when the rest of the IF was having a meeting at the mound🤭 Bregman despite JH lighting up a cigar may only be a one year rental, and might not be worth losing Raffy over. Physically, mentally, or both.

As the Red Sox have found out the past few years you never can have enough arms.

Just listen to both interviews, which is MUCH better to get the tones, and implications.🙈

I’ve never been a Devers Forevers guy, and I’ve said more than once that IMO Devers was signed where Bogey, and Mookie wasn’t, because he was the last man standing. Raffy doesn’t care IMO that Bregman is a better 3B just like Bogey didn’t care that Story was a better SS. The Red Sox was Bogey’s team, and the Red Sox are Raffy’s team, and they both won championships with the Red Sox. Bregman is pretty much on 3 one year contracts, and Raffy might not want to move for an outsider who may be in Boston for only 1 year, or most likely any other reason either. Like I said Raffy feels betrayed, and lied to, and for Cora to say Bloom isn’t here now who made the promise to Raffy doesn’t change anything in Raffy’s mind. I hope Raffy sticks to his guns, and no I don’t think that makes him a bad teammate. All this noise is great for all the talk shows, and outside venues. Raffy is not a good 3B, but that hasn’t bothered me as much as it has you, and others. I believe MVP said the Red Sox haven’t been a losing out of the postseason team the last 3 years, because Raffy has been at 3B, and that’s why it hasn’t bothered me as much, and I don’t believe now that where Raffy plays will make, or break the season.

Raffy acted the same way Cora thought he would. If Friday was the first time Raffy was talked to about moving off 3B then that’s is not a good plan IMO. Raffy feels he was betrayed, and lied to about being the long term 3B, and if that is the case I don’t blame him for acting like he is, and nor should it surprise anyone.

I can’t speak for Brez, or Cora, but I’ve NEVER said that I thought Bregman at 2B, and Devers at 3B is better, so that is fake news, so it’s kind of hard to be wrong on that. The only thing I have said is that as the roster stands today without any additions, or subtractions I thought Bregman would be the 2B, because that’s what I think the Red Sox will do. Once again what the Red Sox will do. Not what I would do. Of course I’m not honed in on every word to try, and fathom the meaning of what the Red Sox will do either. I didn’t hear anything at the press conference today that I didn’t expect to hear, and was I looking for anything.
