  1. To me he’s just another of these special projects the Red Sox like to pay a pitcher to rehab for a year, and hopefully get something out of him the next year $18M, or not. From what I can see he’s been nothing, but a career loser, and not just in a small way. I’m not expecting much to nothing at all from him.
  2. McAdams asked Brez if it was the Red Sox philosophy to make trades instead of signing FA, and Brez kind of said it was without saying it something about not limiting options.
  3. I’m just saying what gets talked about the most. I guess also it depends on what cheap means to each one. It sounds like different things just on here.
  4. Out on the street, airways, and media it’s not the 4 WS that the Red Sox have won under JH, but the losing-last place teams especially since 2013 that gets talked about more justified, or not.
  5. Having the highest ticket prices, and payroll to revenue to gets mentioned a lot too. Of course being first in 2018-2019 would not be first today either.
  6. I can’t believe his 1000 word column didn’t convince you. YOU are right about being all over the place, but remember again he’s not defending, or apologizing for JH. Seems I heard the word SHAM coming from one poster more than once on here though. 🤫
  7. If the Red Sox had a dollar for every time you said you’re not defending, or apologizing for JH, or Bloom back in the day they would have enough money by now to have afforded both Flintstone, and Alonso.🤭
  8. As I said the other day for the next two years some fans will compare the Con Man’s stats to Alonso’s stats, and if Breggie resigns they will compare Breggie’s stats to Raffy’s stats.
  9. I was talking about BTV values, and not money in the REAL world of baseball, and the swapping of bad contracts for bad contracts. Trying to keep trying to swap Hicks, and Masa on BTV is easy, but not so much in real baseball.
  10. I’ll believe it when I actually see it happen, and NOT until then.
  11. Agree on wildest, and a big NO on the rest. Tampa would most likely take Duran, but no on the rest. You put to much focus on money, and not enough on the want, need, and fit. BTV will accept anything if the values align.
  12. I agree. I know some are more down on BO. Of course the amount of years, which will be longer than Breggie would most likely be the big hang up.
  13. I agree with all about the money. He had offers last year from Houston, and even bigger from Detroit.
  14. They all depend on the deal, and the trade, but I agree with this. The Red Sox could use all, and the Red Sox will probably have to pay more than they want to to get any of them.
  15. I believe right now Bres is trying to to go the shortest, and least expensive route he possibly can.
  16. Duran will not bring a top of the rotation starter, and I don’t believe he is in their long range plans, so I think he’s more expendable then the rest.
  17. Let me say this about that. I doubt very much that the Red Sox have any plans of rotating 4 outfielders around anywhere.
  18. Opt-outs after each year. What a deal.
  19. Con Man is a step down from Alonso IMO, but comes at a cheaper price for a shorter period of time. I’m sure some will compare their stats for the next couple of years. I have No focus on where Gray ranks in the rotation, but only as one of the starters. 1-2 significant adds. Where have I heard that before? As I said before regarding Breggie that he could be better this year, but he also could be worse, so even the status quo is nowhere near a certainty if he is resigning.
  20. There is still about 3 months to go before the 2026 season starts, and if the roster looks the same then as it does now there would be reasons for complaining, and concerns. The biggest concern to me right now is how the Red SOX went about the pursuit of Alonso, whom supposedly the Red SOX were interested in. They had a zoom meeting with him, and then an in person interview, and then only offered a three year contract. That’s a bad sign to me. Has anyone thought that resigning Bregman to big bucks might be a step down from what he was last year when he got off to a hot start battling behind Raffy. What if he doesn’t get off to that hot start this year like he did in 2024, and then doesn’t recover that much. He’s not as good a hitter as he started out last year. Then you’ve also got him on the hook for another 4-5 years. As I said when the Red SOX signed him last year he’s not Mike Schmidt, and the three years was the right amount for the length of the contract.Spend money on FA, or trade off someone like Duran to get an IF that some don’t want to see Duran go. Either way Duran is not going to make, or break the 2026 Red SOX season here, or not IMO.
  21. They sent him off in exile with the ruse he had to rehab his shoulder, because Raffy had his spot at DH. Why they wouldn’t let him hit at Portland, or Woo has never been explained as far as I know. He was well enough to swing a bat in ST.
  22. I think it’s more that the Red SOX can’t move Yoshida then it is they want to keep him.
