  1. I wouldn’t call TW one of his minions, and that’s who said it. I don’t think he meant any more of it than when he led the Let’s Go Red Sox chant. That statement didn’t bother me at all unlike what Sam spews out on a yearly basis when he says it’s the Red Sox goal to play into October every year.
  2. I wouldn’t sign BO for 6+ years either. The two guys that could have filled the power need went early in Flintstone, and Alonso.
  3. I don’t think if other teams want Duran it would be because of his Butterfly Man ability in the OF.
  4. As I said I don’t think Bo is on the Red Sox radar, but I think his bat would play better going forward than Bregman, so when Bo eventually signs with someone that will be bad strategy?
  5. If you listen to the interview of AJ Piersynski talking about the negotiations it doesn’t really sound like it.
  6. BO’s bat May play better than Bregman, but I don’t think BO is really on the Red Sox radar.
  7. I agree 100% especially on the last paragraph. Bregman was plan A all along, and Brez it seems did not handle the negotiations all that well, and hopefully humble pie it was.
  8. Because they couldn’t get their top man in Bregman would be the only answer I could see.
  9. I don’t believe Suarez would have been signed if Bregman would have, and I don’t see anymore big expenditures unless the Red Sox shed some salary in the process.
  10. Brez not communicating well probably did not help the Bregman situation at all according to reports from the very outset.
  11. Shaugnessy just said it’s good to see the Red Sox spend money just 4 days after the BREGMAN DEBACLE, which it was after Bregman had been Plan A all along, so now we’ll see what else Brez has up his sleeve.
  12. Now that Suarez is signed was he the right pitcher to go 5 on?
  13. I’m with you on the years pretty much on all contracts.
  14. Providing Mayer, and Story can stay on the field.
  15. I’m kind of shocked that they did give any FA pitcher turning 31 a 5 year contract. As you said time will tell.
  16. Yes I would say this most likely was a pivot, and wouldn’t have happened if Bregman would have signed. He turns 31 in Aug so we’ll see how this turns out. Last time there was a pivot Masa got signed after losing Bogey.
  17. Mayer’s glove will work no matter where he plays, but his bat is the biggest question. I think he needs more work down at Woo on that, but that most likely won’t happen.
  18. Chapman was more than a pleasant surprise. When he was signed I don’t think the Red Sox had nothing more than a 7-8 inning guy planned for him with Hendricks as the closer. Chapman said himself that a role wasn’t even discussed with him when he signed.
  19. Max didn’t give Brez a big enough pat on the back for you? Nothing wrong with that at all. I think Max summed things up pretty well, which was better than you, or I did.
  20. Aggressive? Brez May have a different meaning than the other teams, on how much that means.
  21. The run had to do with the good extended starting pitching especially from Cro Man, Gio, and Bello. Some on here like to think the run was because Raffy was traded.
  22. I agree it’s 2019 on that gets talked about the most on here, and what has followed DD, which was Brez, and Bloom. Theo had his share of success too when he, and LL ran the Red Sox.
  23. Yes the Red Sox have been locking up the younger players, and all that payroll adds up, which gives less money to bring in FA, so which was is better? Time will tell, but if most of the young guys don’t turn out as well as some think it will hurt down the road, but if they turn out great.
  24. Arenado is owed $42M, and the Cardinals are paying $31M of that? Wow! Bloom is paying everyone to take his players.
