  1. Exactly!
  2. Wasn’t Manny handed over to a new regime? A new owner I believe would want to have good players locked up. If he’s got money to buy the club he’s got lots of money to spend. You’d be buying the Red Sox. Not the Pirates.
  3. This offseason was botched last offseason.
  4. He only went over the lux tax at the trade deadline, because he was looking for that third option in the fork in the road. He found it.
  5. Only if he’s ready to sell.
  6. I’m still waiting for just one of all the BTV accepted trades to happen for Boston.
  7. That’s what I’ve been saying since he was hired in Boston. There is a big difference between being in the nerd room with all the analytics sheets, and being the front man. I still cling to he misread the room badly on Bogey, and we all saw the results, and better yet the dumbfounded look on his face.
  8. You left Pivetta out of the starting rotation, and definitely a BIG no on Stinkin Winkin.
  9. Sounds like 3 years. Good for Vaz. $30M.
  10. Payroll doesn’t necessary mean you are a big time player, or should I say a high payroll does not necessarily mean you are a big time player either.
  11. To keep blaming DD for not locking them up is fine, but it doesn’t take away any of the responsibilities of Bloom. It’s an undisputed fact Bloom had three years to work on Bogey, and Raffy, and what he should have done in those 3 years is the question.
  12. I just believe that Bloom just read the room so bad on where the price would go on Bogey compared to the thinking that they were never going to pay Bogey $150M-$200M. Bloom reports to Henry, but i believe Henry gets his info from Bloom, and Bloom’s info was so far off that the whole thing was BOTCHED, and most of the blame goes to Bloom.
  13. Seems to me Bloom has had 3 years to work on getting Raffy, and Bogey signed. BOTCHED not 1, but 2.
  14. And to those who say it’s alright to wait to be better in 2-3 years providing Raffy is resigned the Red Sox would be waisting away some of Raffy’s prime years.
  15. It’s getting harder for me to listen to OB, and his cast of merry men.
  16. Agree with this, and it will be interesting to see how ticket sales are before the season starts.
  17. Bingo! Some are satisfied with the four championships the Red Sox have won since JH took over, and so am I, but like I keep saying all the last place finishes are not all right, and to me should not happen with a payroll that the Red Sox, have, and had.
  18. All I said was the Red Sox had the lowest attendance in 2022 since Henry took over, and that’s a loss of money to Henry, and I think last year’s performance on the field had something to do with that. That’s it.
  19. Do you think Red Sox attendance dropping last year was, because the Red Sox were so much fun to watch. What’s not to like when you could see Franchy Strangeglove try to play 1B, or Duran, Duran The Butterfly Man try to play CF, or Arroyo try to play RF. Not even mentioning they were a losing team to boot, so I would say Bloom had his hands all over the drop in attendance.
  20. I’m sure all the returning players in the clubhouse are just thrilled Bogey won’t be there anymore, and how he was treated going out the door especially Raffy. Bogey was the leader in the clubhouse, and outside of the clubhouse even when Mookie was there, so his leadership was still there last summer. What we do know about last summer, and the one thing that Sam Kennedy got right was that himself, Cora, and Bloom ALL FAILED last summer.
  21. Worst attendance since JH took over in a non Covid year. I didn’t say what place in attendance they finished, but it was a drop, and a drop is $$$.
  22. We don’t know if Mayer will ever be ready, or as good as his hype, and of course Bogey would have a no trade anyways, so it wouldn’t be that simple.
  23. Of course to some it just has to be the Red Sox didn’t think Bogey was worth any kind of contract, and if they keep saying it enough it will be true, but I think it’s quite possible, and more likely than not that Bloom just didn’t read the room right, and BOTCHED the whole thing, and I think that dumb, dumbfounded look on Blooms face says it all.
  24. I don’t think JH standards are a losing, last place in the Div team, and a drop in attendance, so that script has to change.
  25. Some keep saying that the Red Sox Brass didn’t think Bogey was worth the money, and I disagree 100%. He wasn’t worth $280M, or 11 years, but he was worth 6-7 yrs $150M-$200M, which should have been offered to him last off season, but I just don’t think the Red Sox the money would get anywhere near where it got to, and just BOTCHED the whole thing, and I blame Bloom mostly for that, because I’m guessing JH was getting his info from Bloom. Bogeys tangibles to Boston, which doesn’t show up on any analytics sheet was worth $90M in itself. Plain, and simple Bloom botched this from day 1 that he’s had three years to work on.
