My main point being if Wink comes into the game in the 5th, and pitches like he normally does there is NO NEED for Garza, or anyone else that followed him until possibly Martin in the 8th. Ok I didn’t say it at the time to bring in Wink, but I’m shocked that no one else mentioned it. If the Sox would have tied the game in the 9th i wouldn’t have mentioned bringing in Jansen either.

Saying that a SP only going 4 innings was unacceptable turned this place into a war zone. I’ve seen many times that all a game thread needs is one bad pitch for all hell to break loose.

I agree with you the Red Sox were only down 1-0 in the 5th inning, and still had a chance to Win.

To some Cora is still living off the laurels of 2018. He’s not that good.

Are you telling me that who Cora brought into the game in the 5th inning was the best choice? Right choice? Only down 1-0 is not the time for the weakest links, but the right Wink.

Pivetta pitched yesterday, and yes I would have brought Wink in for the 5th down only 1-0. 3 innings by wink, and then depending on the score Martin in the 8th. Pax is going tomorrow, and who knows if Wink will be needed. Tonight down 1-0 Wink was needed. Also the Kut Man could be available tomorrow. I call Cora out as I see fit as do many on a game thread, so we would have to wait, and see.

Moral victory still shows up in the loss column. Yes getting Diaz into the game may help the next two games, but by Cora not going to Wink down only 1-0 may have been a whole different ballgame that Diaz might not of had a save situation. Bad bad managing by Cora tonight, which ended up in a loss.

Wow! To bad Cora threw in the towel in the 5th inning only down 1-0, and brought in the weakest links of the BP.

Seriously when Cora took Bello out down 1-0 Wink should have been the first guy in. You got what you deserved with what he’s brought in.

He has pretty much sucked for two years now, but for some he’s still living off his hot streak in the 2021 postseason.

2 outs, and the Red Sox have had trouble scoring. 2 good throws to get him. Do it every time.
