    Yes Kike says he’s an IF who plays the OF, and does play CF quite well. Kike gives it all he’s got wherever he plays, and even though he’s made some great plays at SS he just not consistent enough to play there FT. His bat hasn’t been good for two years now either.

    During the Red Sox winning streak when some were all giddy on here, and someone said Mookie who. You even called Mookie a bum of a leadoff hitter. Well that bum of a leadoff hitter has 17 HR, and 41 RBI.Wow!

    How about a little standings update, which I would say most fans care about the most. 32-33 record, which is good enough to be last in the Div by 3 games. Wild card there is only 5 teams ahead of them with the next one in line 2 games in the loss column ahead. Overall record there is just 15 teams ahead of them, so is that glass half full, or half empty? I’ll let others decide on that one. There is another poster who gives standings updates sometimes, but the conditions have to be right to do it. I’m guessing too that there are not to many fans out in RS Nation that are saying it’s OK if we end up as a losing last place in the Div team, and out of the postseason again this year as long as we might be good in 2024, 2025, or possibly 2026.

    I’d settle for a Reggie Smith, or a Fred Lynn. The HErnandez people are still living in the past. This is not two years ago. 2 years ago the Red Sox were a winning team that came within a couple of games of going to the WS. Ever since they have been a losing, last place in the Div team. 2 years is a long time ago.

    All that Hank Aaron accomplished in his career with the bat with all the Hits, RBI, and HR he hit he said what he was proud of the most was his BA.

    Evol picked up his 9th win of the season today even though he did give up 4 runs going 6.1 in Tampa. JD also hit his 16th today with 3 RBI to give him 47. Always good to keep up on the boys.

    Wow! Talking about grasping at straws, and stretch them out. The key word here is FORMER gold glove. Is he still that same player at 34? You even said yourself that he is not playing the same position that he won his gold glove in. I think you have to cover more ground in CF than you do in RF in Atlanta. So your theory is, because he won a gold glove 2 years ago at a different position that somehow translates into him being a good CF in Boston. I’m not even disputing he’s a good OF, but only that he’s not fleet afoot with good enough range to be a good CF at 34 yrs old, who will be 35 in Sept, and has never had blazing speed to begin with.

    I’m not out on anyone. Yoshida would fit better at DH. Duvall would fit better in LF/RF. Turner fits better at DH, and Kike if he fits at all fits better in CF.

    In other words look for that third option in the fork in the road. That worked so well last year, and stayed over the tax line doing it.

    I don’t know, but I bet Duvall wasn’t the only one Available. I’d be fine with him in LF/RF, but the whole up the middle D hasn’t been the best, and far from it.
