  1. Time will tell, but I’m leaning to an inside job with Cora getting more of a say. Don’t know if that’s what’s best, but what might happen. They only interviewed Bloom last time, and I’m not to sure there is a long line waiting to work for JH.
  2. How could anyone forget him?
  3. Devers is the best player on the team, but his Errors at 3B has been a problem.
  4. Like I keep saying that JH is not the same guy when he first bought the Red Sox as he is today. No doubt he’s been a good owner, but the Red Sox didn’t win in 1967, 1975, 1978, or 1986, because of who the owner was.
  5. I just don’t see the sense of moving him there for 15 games, or so just for practice.
  6. I don’t see any reason to play Raffy any games at 1B unless it’s tried as a permanent move. If he’s at 3B he needs all the work there that he can get, so moving him to 1B for 15 games, or so doesn’t make sense. I don’t believe you do practice in a regular season game. ST maybe.
  7. He would have been my #1 pick. Especially in RF at Fenway.
  8. He turned down a chance to go to the Dodgers at the trade deadline, so it’s hard telling what he’ll do. I’ve said before i don’t like opt out clauses, because it just holds the team hostage like JD did to the Red Sox for a couple of years. Will he, or won’t he?
  9. I never said you never did both. My main point for the last two years was making the farm better is good as long as it is not at the expense of the big league club, which I believe it has been the last two years.
  10. Maybe the Old Gray Mare at the top needs to go.
  11. They needed to add pitching when the 3 starters went down, which was before Aug 1. Raffy, and Jansen both said they needed to add pitching, but Bloom did nothing.
  12. No, but hopefully the decision making, or lack of decision making will, and maybe whoever is charge now will understand the here in now is what’s most important, and the here, and now is coming up onto October when the haves play, and the have nots watch.
  13. The 4th outfielder turned out to be Arroyo for awhile.
  14. Nah, we all know DD dumps prospects, and cleans out the farm.
  15. Looks, and actually being are two different things. Just like the here, and now that I preached about for the last two years was the most important thing. It makes you feel better to say the rankings are better ,so that makes the future better, but when it actually gets better, and I expect it will with Bloom gone then I will see things differently.
  16. Like I said Sale pretty much hasn’t helped the here, and now since the 2018 season, so even if I would have had to pay a little bit he’d been gone at pretty much the first offer. I was against the extension that DD gave him when it happened.
  17. I just take more of a wait, and see attitude, so I really wouldn’t call that a bit harsh.
  18. Yes Bello, and Casas have shown more than promise, but the stories of Raf Man, and Abreu haven’t been written yet, so we don’t know how they will turn out. They all could end up as good players, but nothing great, so while they may be a better crop than the farmers before them doesn’t mean they will be good enough to produce a winning team. If none turns out to be a Mookie, or a BOgey, or a Raffy you really haven’t gained that much, so that’s why I have said repeatedly farm rankings don’t necessarily turn into a good ML club. If they do great.
  19. After the season yes, but Bloom for some reason didn’t want a 90+ RBI guy coming back, and brought back JBJ, so that was not a good start to the offseason. Story Land was added, so 2022 should have been a lot better, but as well all know it wasn’t.
  20. Because they handled the likes of the Yankees, and Jays before didn’t mean they would do that again, and they didn’t. The pitching staff for what it was was on fumes, or not that good. The Red Sox are what their record says they are. That’s why you play 162.
  21. No I can’t, but you definitely can’t say Bloom would have done something constructive either.
  22. I did hear from a friend of mine from Philly that DD was asking about JD, but Bloom was asking way to much for him.
  23. Being on a pace like this year with a pitching staff in tatters, and a brutal ending of a schedule was not worth the pace.
  24. Plus that 180 SS has four more years on his contract.
  25. Agree 100% that trading Sale would not have hurt the here, and now. Disagree 100% that everyone that everyone would have viewed it as giving up. I certainly wouldn’t have, and it’s not like he was making any big contributions anyway when he was able to pitch, and really hadn’t since the 2018 season. I don’t know what they would have done with the money saved, but trading Sale to me would have been a win, win for the Red Sox. JH is certainly not blameless in the downfall of the Red Sox, and plenty of fans have, and will hold him accountable when ever he shows his face.
