    You keep talking about my original insight on Bloom for the 455th time, but yet you say it doesn’t bug you just like you said you weren’t a Bloom guy. OMG, OMG, OMG. The fact is my first, and last thought on Bloom was 100% correct, so thanks again for pointing that out.Bloom is gone, and the Brez is the Prez, and Bloom set such a low last place bar there is nowhere to go, but up.

    A description on Torre’s is he be making around $15M, and his defense is either stellar, or bush league.

    Jansen pitched the least amount of innings last year since his rookie year outside of the Covid year. I know he’s only 36, but his body isn’t as young as Martin’s.

    I don’t believe you can upgrade all that you mentioned by FA alone. If no trades are made with prospects I don’t see that the upgrades will happen either. Outside of trades SP is not going to be cheap unless you pass on the top 3-4 available.

    Houck, and Whitlock back to the pen would make it even deeper, and stronger. I don’t think Martin will duplicate last year, but he still should be good. Jansen is a year older, and a bigger question to me if he can hold up through the year with those creaky old bones, and joints.

    SP, and SP are still the top two priorities, and that will take a good part of the budget to spend. I’m fine with Duvall coming back, but that’s not a certainty.

    Being deeper does not necessarily mean quality. They went real deep at 2B last year too, but not much quality.

    Dugy has every reason to be good this year with FA looming after next year.

    It’ll be interesting to see what Cora, and Breslow come up with concerning the OF alignment, but I agree with you 100% on this. Prospects, or suspects, or somewhere in between. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, but anything less🙈.

    You hooked on all of them? If Duran, Raf Man, and Abreu all work out then great it would be a cheap OF for awhile, and more money could be spent on SP, but all the other guys are still unproven commodities for 2024.

    I don’t believe you’ll get a lot back for Dugy by himself, or part of a package with being on his last year before FA. I’m not against trading him, but maybe one of the other OF will get traded instead

    The object for the 2024 Red Sox should be to put their best team on the field with a chance to get into the postseason in 2024. I wouldn’t just trade Dugy, because they won’t get anything for him at the end of the season, or i wouldn’t trade Dugy just to make room for younger OFers. All of the Duran, Raf Man, and Abreu are unproven, and as I’ve said before would be risky to count heavily on all three going into the 2024 season. What happens with Yoshida as a DH, or not, or if Duvall, or someone similar is signed will make a big difference too. Dugy had a good ist half last year, and will be on his last year before he can go FA, so he might be good for a full season in 2024, but either way i wouldn’t trade him just to trade him.

    $200M for 6-7 years. This is going to be a bidding war, and it won’t be easy to outbid teams like they did with Yoshida. I don’t know if he , and Yoshida are big buddies, but it wouldn’t hurt if they are. If not i don’t see the Red Sox winning the war.

    I didn’t see the game today, but by the stats it did not look good for Hartman.I said a couple of weeks ago that one of the young QB should get some playing time, and after today especially.

    I remember Dick Groat, but don’t remember him playing for the Red Sox. Jerry Adair I remember contributing to the 67 team.

    Elston made a great block of the plate, and tag on a throw from Jose Tartabull against the White Sox.

    It’s always bugged him, because I said I was against the Bloom hiring from day 1, and now it bugs him, because I don’t feel the same way against Breslow. When I said the Tampa way I was referring more about the payroll than anything else. 🙈
