I don’t see Pivetta going to the pen at this point in the season even though he would most likely help the BP out. The biggest need right now is the backend of the BP.

That’s the point that Bell has been making all along on the lack of depth. Most likely Gio would not have been signed, and you would still have the depth problem although a little less, because Sale would be here.

There has been needless discussion on this, because the problem has existed all year long just as it was the previous 2 years. Problems lead to discussions, and there are still problems. Paxton to rescue?

There was depth issues before Gio got hurt as the last three years has shown. It appears Brez didn’t get that memo.

The fact is they didn’t keep Sale, and the Red Sox Now have to add pitching, because subbing Gio for Sale as Bell has said many times did nothing to the depth of the rotation.

This is just a meh deal. We will just have to wait, and see what else is done. Paxton is at least another arm at this point, but more is need.

Well Pax is an arm, and a LHP at that, but how much help he’ll be well just have to find out. He hasn’t been all that good especially of late. Last 4 games 17.2 innings- 25 hits- 17 ER allowed.
