  1. Which of these pieces is realistic and a move to made on? I think Wong and Walker would be pieces to def take a look at.
  2. So we give an injury prone Richards 10 Mil and pass on getting an established closer in Hand that went for 10.5.... how many of us are really starting to doubt the decisions made by Bloom. Who are we signing next Kennedy, Hamels, Wade Davis.... ?????
  3. Maybe we can have Richards close.....
  4. For Mookie.... Yes! That trade should’ve returned at least two players able to start right away and for god sakes a SP should’ve been included!
  5. Glad to see we’ve become the hand me down little brother of the Dodgers..... who’s left for us to snatch up!
  6. hell yes.. Downs might pull us a good arm!
  7. Another week has gone by and no acquisitions that matter have been made once again. I love how the media outlets and social media sites for the Sox say.... Red Sox looking to make moves this week or the hot stove rumors of Sox is serious talks with such and such...... blah blah blah. This is getting old! I guess we will wait until the scraps are left to sign and being the laughing stock of big market teams again. And no I'm not saying so sign, Hand, Ozuna, or Bauer..... just do something that makes some damn sense already!
  8. Shoulder specialist from Johns Hopkins... point I'm trying to prove is, the delivery Sale has is not smooth and puts a lot of torque on the shoulder and elbow. If he comes back healthy it won't be in 2021. The injury bug will become more prevalent with him trying to protect that arm down the road... maybe oblique strain, rotator.... we as fans can't bank on him being a fixture in the lineup anytime soon.
  9. Throwing 90 is fine if you are Greg Maddux! The slider has always been his out pitch! Granted I’ve never been a MLB pitcher but I did blow my shoulder out, Bicep tendon, Labrum and rotator cuff and still can’t throw a ball more than 50’ without strain on the arm... imagine that whip action on surgically repaired elbow... esp when the bend on that thing! Again hope like hell I’m wrong... proof will be in the pudding!
  10. I hope I’m wrong but Sale will never be the real Sale again... his delivery is too violent and that elbow can’t take that strain. The velocity will never get back to the mid 90’s!
  11. If there’s no real talented arms out there to go and get via the FA signings... why not really dig deep and move the untouchable.... hate it or not, Devers should be that guy! Those of you who think he’s the one guy we got who’s not available... rubbish! We won’t win again until 2022 at best and why not see what future front line starters we can pull for him! Go ahead drill me over this observation!
  12. Who’s getting more and more pissed off with every acquisition done by the other 2021 contending teams not named Boston?? No chance in hell this team contends for this year much less next. Bogey is going to opt out and Sale isn’t going to be reincarnated... that slider will be a thing of the past! Time for Bloom to lay some cards on the table!!
  13. Completely agree.... we may fall so far behind other teams that actually acquire talent and not double AA scrubs, it will be to far gone to complete with the big boys!
  14. Great thoughts... agree on most of them! Devers needs to be dealt before his weight becomes more of an issue. With his body type and lack of offseason conditioning he will never stay mobile enough to stick at 3B down the road. Send him out for arms while his stock is high! I did not see any thoughts in this post on Sale.....????
  15. Sale is not coming back reincarnated! He will never throw mid 90’s again and his our pitch will be limited to take the strain off that arm! The cliff is going to be substantially longer since we won’t make the moves necessary to assure future help in the needed areas! I get hated on for wanting to explore options for Devers.... as a GM looking to rebuild a franchise, Bloom needs pieces for future rosters! We need arms and middle infielders! Teams like Atlanta would be a possible suitor to dangle Devers in front of. They have arms for days! Take Leiter in the draft and steal some gems from Atlanta and set this team up with a dominant staff 3-4 years from now!
  16. This season is going to be another crap lost season! Bloom hasn’t done damn thing yet that makes much sense! It’s all good guys.... we can have Brewer as an ace....
  17. Only way Sale comes back close to being dominant is whether or not he got on the Barry Bonds workout plan! With the violent delivery and arm slot he will certainly protect that elbow and rely more on the FB now than ever! The guy needs to add some serious weight.... good weight to have more longevity! If that arm and shoulder goes unscathed for 2021 he “might” be Chris Freaking Sale in 2022!
  18. At what point with you guys let it go? Mookie is gone.... move on!
  19. put your GM hat on here and roll with it. Who is untouchable and who can we move to obtain arms for the future. Sale may come back and blow his shoulder out on the first outing out. Evo is a ticking time bomb, and Erod may take a while to regain his form.
  20. I was not referring to those names in any trades. Arenando would be a huge play at 3rd.... however we can not afford that contract. I was only trying to move the needle on the possibility of acquiring young arms to build for the future. And the bigger question in the future will be the contract demands of Devers. If we could not sign Mook to a career contract how can we attempt this with RD in the next couple years.
  21. I’m being 100% real. Those of you who are fanboys of Devers only see his one great season. Yes it was a great season but let’s be real here. The guy has major ups and downs in his defense and we all know his body type is never going to get much better. By the time he’s 30 he may look like Panda at 3rd. Is he really the cornerstone of our future, if not, why not see what’s out there!
  22. I’m kinda with Ghost here.... if we really want to make a huge move we dangle Devers out there and see if there are any takers with an offer that is too good to not entertain! We need arms that can be depended on and there’s no guarantee that Sale ever returns to form or how long Evo stays healthy! How about a frontline starter and a stud 2B/CF.... work with me here guys!!!
  23. No chance we give up those bats and potential for the piss poor bat of Polanco and big question mark that is Musgrave.
  24. He is a slower starter because he comes out of the winter hibernation period with a hockey goalie body and has to remember that he's a well paid athlete and he has to actually perform to be around for a big time contract!
  25. guys, take this how you will but, I don't see the infatuation with Devers. Why as a GM would you not be willing to move this guy while his value is high. Is he really the huge contract that Bloom is willing to take on long term? We have prospects in the pipeline at 3rd, move this guy for arms! He will only get slower and it doesn't look like he wants to become the player that wants to stay in shape and be more agile. Go ahead and roast me
