  1. It’s time to push the panic button… and hopefully ole Bloomer was handcuffed in possible acquisitions! None of our SP’s show any real chance to dominate a lineup and get the game to the late innings with a lead… Button officially pushed!!!
  2. No chance we win a ring with what we have… everyone thinks Sale is coming back to save the rotation! We’re one long IL stint from falling into a 4 or 5 game slide and being a game back! Bloom did not do us any favors and those who say well we did get Kyle… we needed an arm and a guy to play 1B!!!
  3. Good job Bloom…. Way to make fans want to ring your neck!!!
  4. Starting to agree with most here… Bloom is getting taken to the woodshed! The clock is ticking… if tonight’s performance doesn’t scream out the need for a true 1-2 kinda guy something awful! And news flash… it’s not a guarantee Sale comes back and truly walks on water again! Get it together Bloom!!!
  5. When Sale comes back healthy.....won't an arm or two be pushed to the pen? I mean the rotation will be Sale, Nate, Erod, Houck?... with a possibility in acquiring another arm ( Max). Would we really need another addition to the pen? Perez, Richards, Taylor, DWin, Sawamura, Whitlok, Ottavino, Valdez, Rios, Workman, Barnes. If we land a starter, that may even push Erod to the pen. The addition of a good bat at 1st seems like the more desirable route to take!
  6. Hypothetically speaking... If Barnes goes down at some point, who is the guy we use in a save situation. Is there an arm we have that kind of confidence in down the stretch. If not, should we not go find a bargain arm to be able to depend on if that were to happen? If this were to be the case, who would be a steal and not cost a lot to make this happen?
  7. Took in another game last night at Salem... have to admit there's not a whole lot there to brag about. I know there are a few of our top 30 prospects there. I just don't see it. With the exception of Yorke, no one this team will make it to the next level from what's being shown on the field and that goes for Jimenez, Decker, Lugo. And I'm not real sure what scouts have put so much faith in Jimenez, he looks like a slap hitter but doesn't use the whole field. As for the situation at catcher.... I've seen better options at the high school level in the area.
  8. Being that the deadline is approaching quickly... who might the names be on the move and who are we targeting? Do we find a 1B ( Schoop, Rizzo) or find another arm to help the rotation. Big splash in Max or play it safe and with a smaller contract and get the bat and smaller contract pitcher.
  9. When will these top guys report to teams and any idea where some of the bigger names will sent to?
  10. Living in Salem I've watched our boys quite a bit this year. I recently came across a post about Jimenez being a decently rated prospect. From what I've seen he's not that guy. And those of you who will point out his .300 avg have not seen his overall game. The kid is very suspect in the field looking shaky at times getting twisted up going back on balls. Speed is decent, however, doesn't get a great jump on the bases. Hit a looper to LF last night and tried to leg out the double and got hosed at second. Kid has some growing to do for sure. As for Yorke he seems to be coming around. Had a rough start to the season but seems to have found his stroke, avg is starting to climb. Best pop on the team is Joe " Beer League " Davis. Kid can flat out mash and has never seen a 1st pitch FB in the zone he did not like. As for pitching..... not much here in Salem.
  11. in terms of arms we might need come playoff time, adding a Lefty might make sense. If not a lefty, or Kimbrel, who might make the most sense? All of that would be a moot point if we move Perez or Erod to the pen. As I type this, I realize that would be ideal.
  12. We should have a thread on just relief concerns... and the arms we should pursue! This team goes no where without some major pen upgrades!
  13. This team is terrible... Richards was an awful sign! The under win total seems like the lock of the century!
  14. I’m not overreacting on Devers... I was saying this last year! My point has been what is he worth when it’s time to sign the big deal he’s going to demand! If this team is in a true rebuild why wouldn’t you dangle him out there to a contender down the stretch.... who really wants to pay 18-25 a year on DH
  15. I’m talking about Kike being the decision at 2nd and the arms he brought in and not working Devers at 1B in spring training! I’ve been raked over the coals for mentioning the possibility of shopping RD before it’s time to extend him... thoughts now, go ahead and say.... It’s game 1.... proof is in the pudding my friends!
  16. At what point will questions begin to come up about Bloom’s offseason acquisitions? Devers and his crumbling defense, Kike not being the answer at 2nd?
  17. Sorry fella’s I’m with Ghost on this one... I’ve said it before that Devers isn’t the cornerstone player to build around! His D isn’t good enough to give him the big contract he’s going to demand going forward! It’s getting crunch time to make the move to 1st... wasn’t Dalbec the defensive Minor league player of the year in our organization! We should be giving him a few looks at 3rd before it’s too late! Good ahead old timers, light us up for our criticism of RD!
  18. The bigger question should be what will he be looking for in said extension. Is he the type of player that demands 7-140/150 deal or even north of that. If the the overweight and out of shape guy that showed up last season is the guy demanding that, then it should be a pass.
  19. There are still some arms available that are definitely worth looking at. BP arms ( Greene, Rosenthal, Jeffress) and SP arms ( Walker, Tehran)! Are we done with additions and just standing firm with what we have?
  20. You’re crazy if you think Paxton is better than either of them! Paxton coming off shoulder issues and a dying velocity... at least Walker and Tehran are innings eaters!
  21. How are we not making a play at either Tehran or Walker.... we need arms and they seem to be the best still available!
  22. If anyone thinks Sale comes back this season to make an impact is crazy! The least sign of concern in a simulated game or BP session and he’s on the shelf until 2022! And as for Bloom... what the hell are you doing? Schoop signs for like 4.5 and we don’t even make an effort to land him! Nah it’s cool go throw 65-70 mil at Mr I walk on water in CF because I make a few really good plays but can’t hit my own weight for AVG.... not to mention our catcher seems to have had as many successful stolen bases lately as him! Please don’t blow our payroll up to bring him back!!!!
  23. Seeing players get signed by others teams at great values is getting really old! Sure as hell looks like Duran can handle himself in CF from what’s being shown in the winter league! Yet we don’t make a play for Wong, Colome, Soria, are we set at what we have! Walker, Greene, Rosenthal and a few others can still make an impact on this team! Mark my words... next headline “ Sox sign.... enter any over 32yr old OF here”! C’mon Bloom earn your keep and don’t throw the... he got us Verdugo crap!
  24. So we couldn’t not throw 10.5 at Hand or get in on Rosario at 8.5..... what the hell bloom.... starting to look like a 💩 show in the front office around bean town
