    Guys this was your dream lineup for 25 years... you guys are bringing in postseason stats and one game scenarios. If you built a team in the last 25 years who would it be. And to Moon... why no love for I-Rod or Ichiro. The best defensive catcher possibly ever and the hitting machine that was Ichiro! Step back and take a look at his stats, the guy averaged over 220 hits a season for a 10 year span and the batting average was .320 or better for that time frame. Not to mention the rocket attached to that shoulder.

    I should've put a few * in there.... steroid free Arod and I could not bring myself to put Bonds in there since his best seasons were tainted. I prob should have selected another LF. I went strictly by the position that the player played.

    Came upon an article this morning on ESPN about dream lineup so I thought we could have a little fun with this. Based on offense and defensive metrics and has to be in the last 25 years! 1) Henderson-LF.. 2) Cano-2B.. 3)Arod-SS.. 4) Miggy-3B.. 5) Manny- DH.. 6) Pujols-1B.. 7) Griffey- CF.. 8) Pudge-C..9) Ichiro-RF SP- Pedro SP- Maddux Closer- Rivera

    agree 100% with this bold honesty! Those saying Sale may not be lost.... in the words of Chris Berman " C'mon man" that wicked arm action and how violent that delivery is should tell you this guy was destined for TJ at some point. We should be making any and all moves possible to make this team a real contender in 2021 and beyond.

    Not when he is under contract. If he's not physically able to pitch and the procedure is the way for him to live up to those expectations... can the contract not be voided?

    Glad to see our boys are getting shelled again today by the *'s who are not even fielding a team of high school second teamers! Season win total just keeps plummeting!

    Is it too far-fetched to think of seeing what could be gotten for the likes of hate to say it but EROD or Devers... Sale will have to have TJ pretty soon for him to even be a factor in 2021. Let's throw the next two years out, make some smart trades and restock the farm. Go ahead and burn me to the ground now for this idea.

    This season will be a wash! Sale will end up having TJ surgery and Evol will be on the DL for multiple stints. We had better get used to seeing Hector and Weber in the rotation. With no arms in the farm its time for Bloom to make some future trades. We need arms we can count on. If anyone thinks we need to re-sign Mookie, they're kidding themselves. We need arms and more arms instead of one huge contract!

    I think I saw something yesterday that Houck has pitched well. It looked like the slider was effective. Does he have enough in the tank to blow hitters away if needed? Is there any word on the recovery process of Groome... will he throw in 2020?

    How did this thread become a Mookie thread.... Mookie is a Dodger now. Let's move on and get to what this thread is supposed to be about. Any buzz around spring training so far...... let's talk about that. Who's standing out, who is making a push, who doesn't have a chance in hell of the 40 man.

    where does this rotation go when Sale gets shelved for a couple stints on the DL. The opener scenario will be an afterthought and we will be struggling with a 3 man rotation the likes of Erod-EVo-Perez. With no help on the way.... can DHern not be pushed into a starting role at some point.

    For those who continue to say that Pillar is poor mans version of JBJ.... have you actually looked at their stats. With the exception of BB's and OBP.... Pillar is far and away a better statistical player. And I'm sure we are going to get the responses of how JBJ is a gold glove OF'er... he was a great OF'er, that has fallen off. I'll take KP in CF any day. He may not make the ESPN top 10 routinely but he is going to make the plays when needed and occasionally he's going to make you say... damn nice catch. Now let's send JBJ out to pasture and bring back an arm!

    I think Dalbec needs a chance to show off the potential power. However, I don’t think this guy can be mobile enough to play 2B. Chatham should be the guy at 2B. Is there someone coming that can actually contribute in the rotation?

    If this trade does go through what will the lineup card look like on opening day? Who will be the surprise adds to the 40 man roster?

    I like the idea of shopping Erod. If and its a huge if we sign Mookie to that mega deal he's going to be wanting. What will Erod demand down the road. Can we take on that type of contract too?

    Hate to say it but, this season may turn out to be a Sh!T Show. What is Bloom doing? No need to wait around until the trade deadline if we're going to be battling for the last spot with the O's. I agree with Moon, I want to compete but not at the expense of a maybe wildcard team this season to kill us for 2021 and so on!

    How are the votes for plug and compete creeping up. Yes we compete with the lineup we have when healthy, However, there is no guarantee that Mookie even wants the long term deal in Boston. Furthermore, if we sign him and its in the ballpark of of 10-330/380mil what does that do to our spending down the road. We need to make the most of the situation and replenish the farm. If Sale or Price miss multiple games( certain to happen) and god forbid Erod go down, who is left to fill those voids? There are no arms coming that will make a difference. Go get some prospects and move on from 2020.
