  1. This season is over with the product we continue to put out there every game. We can’t compete with the clubs we have made the correct moves to improve! Douchebag Dave might just be the one we need to let go of.... this team has become the Tigers when he was there! It’s time to sell.... we have to find a way to get arms on the roster who have actual MLB talent and not a single A stud who can’t pitch their way out a wet paper bag in the show! Include a couple players that can’t hit for avg or for god sake put down a bunt against a freaking shift! If last year was a fluke then so was Mookie’s season.... he seems more like .250 hitter that we can’t afford to spend 300 million on long term just to handcuff our future! If you guys think there is talent on this roster, maybe it’s time to start firing coaches.... and I mean all coaches! Go ahead guys rake me over the coals here... I’m just calling it like I see it
  2. I think it would be a huge mistake to sign Mookie. And it’s hard to say that. Another 300 mil contract is going to handcuff this team for the next 5-7 years. Trade him and get some arms and rebuild the minor league system! If we’re all being honest we may need to trade DD too....
  3. sorry guys, I'm just throwing ideas out there. Pillar was a good CF idea in return with Smith. He makes less than JBJ and is similar defensively.
  4. I agree with Bell here... sell while the fire is hot! What if we were to throw an offer to the giants, something like JBJ, Casas, Dhernandez for Pillar and Smith?
  5. With the recent surge from JBJ, is now the time to try and package a deal with him involved to try and get the pieces to make a run? Cashman has said he will do whatever it takes to add the talent to put them over the top. DD can't just sit idle and make mediocre moves after the Yanks add more studs to an already loaded team.
  6. As a guy who is being pitched low and away and expected to get on base to be the table setter.... he still needs to be able to go that way and it not be a lazy fly ball to RF.
  7. Agree... Devers won't have the range to stay at 3rd, unless he wants to drop 25lbs before it's too late
  8. Mookie is still hitting a lot of fly balls to RF and with no authority to them. Until he finds that stroke to the gap, the AVG will stay around 265-270. And for god sake he needs to get the wheels going on the bases... a leadoff hitter needs more stolen bases than the cleanup hitter!
  9. Do we really want to sink 300 mil plus into Betts... he's a great player when he's on and having a great year but when it's the mediocre year like he's having this year is that what we want with that kind of contract. When he get to the 33-34 year old Mookie, will he still be the defensive player in RF or have moved to LF, will there be any SB's. As of right now the guy leading our team outweighs him by almost 60lbs. All I am saying is that 10 year contracts seem to kill teams at times. We all love Mookie but is it worth the financial handcuff down the road? Enlighten me with opinions
  10. I think it's time to call a spade a spade.... and I hope like hell I'm wrong! This season is over for us and it may be time to sell and refuel the terrible farm system we have! This team seems lost and looking for something, anything that can spark us and it's not being found! We can never seem to put it together for more than one game at a time or if we're lucky a couple games. For those of you wanting EE, he is not our season savior. Yeah, he will come in and hit a few HR's but will it be solo shots that mean nothing in the 9th when we're down 9-4 because of the piss poor pitching depth this team has. We need fire.... and after what has happened to Papi this week we can't find the passion and heart to go out and dominate.... C'mon man!
  11. what if we were to go after Vazquez from Pitt. His salary isn't anything crazy and he always seems to get the job done for a typical doormat team in the division. Or we go for a guy like Alex Colome from Chicago... he might be a low salary guy we can pull away without having to give up too much in the long run!
  12. With the struggles and injuries we continue to have when does changes start to be made? I know all this will be a moot point if we run off 6-8 games in a row... however, we need to call a spade a spade here and be honest with ourselves. What will be done if anything and what changes can we expect to be made. Who can we afford to go out and get to try and make a late run. Will it be pitching help or in the way of a bat in the lineup somewhere. In my opinion (which doesn't matter) we need a lead-off guy who can steal some bases and be the guy that allows Mookie to have more RBI chances when hes's actually putting the ball into play and not popping out the right center all day. When it comes to the BP, some guys continue to get looks and continue to piss away leads or close games... can and will SW and Johnson actually make a difference to ignore the help we need?
  13. The only one on the 40 man is Darwin... some of the guys on there will never help or make an impact at all. Jarren Duran has really heated up in Salem. The kid is batting .403 with 13 2B's and 18 SB's, Chatham is hitting .314 and has 44 hits in 38 games. There are a few guys with low ERA's and relief pitchers that should be given a shot with the state of our pen. I think we should slide Chavis over to 1B and bring up Hernandez or Chatam and let them play 2B and bring Darwin up, at least there is one lefty in the pen. Hell, Duran could be the leadoff hitter this team needs. Not completely sure how the 40 man works so all this may be a moot point.
  14. Some guys in the minors are having great seasons and should get a chance. However, its seems as if DD is too loyal to mediocre bats and arms right now. Who would be front runners out there that we could go get to help the BP situation. Definitely need a lefty in the pen and a reliable closer....
  15. usually agree with your takes.... however, would you still be saying this at seasons end if he were batting .109? With his current pace and getting around the same PA's as last season this is the what we would be looking at. Don't get me wrong. I love defense, always have, always will!
  16. With the issues to the rotation. At some point will DD go out and look to find an arm. If so, who could be the options available?
