Much agreed. If he could throw 90, I assume he would. Seen nothing to indicate he can do that or better. He's like watching grass grow, and is very likely to be DL'ed or DFA'ed with in the next few days.

Not intentional but seeing Jake hit JDM with a 3-2 pitch doesn't make you feel good, watching Judge miss the next several weeks. Without JDM, not the same team

I think last time out, Pomeranz avoided problems in the first but they showed up by the 3rd as the LF seated patrons started noticing incoming.

The maneuvering during the past week and through today show where the power is in MLB as the big clubs with high win rates load up off the secondary markets. Not good for competitive balance but good for fans of the AL big three (Red Sox, NYY, Astros) who will have an epic battle, including the Guardians and Mariners (?? maybe A's) to see who goes to the Series. These playoffs will be intense starting with the play-in game.

Depending on what happens in the NYY series, I'd give him all the time he needs to feel right. Knowing his personality , he will probably push to come back in 10 days.

Chris Sale goes on the 10 dayDL with shoulder inflammation. The roster just found an opening. Sale will miss the Yankee series. The reduced workload just fell through the floor.

That doesn't bode well for a guy whose body language/expression seems to convey a lack of confidence. If he is sharp it is all the harder as to what to do with the extra bodies and that's before Rodriguez gets fully rehabb'ed.

The ST roster crunch is back with addition of Kinsler and the pending returns of Devers and Vazquez at some points in August. Lin went back to his permanent home in Pawtucket allowing Kinsler a locker. But take a look at the roster as it stands. There are no AAAA'ers left, now that Brasier has earned a spot in the BP . My guess is that Vazquez is kept on the DL/rehab list all of August, until rosters expand. When Devers is ready to go, probably someone else goes on DL willingly or not. Drew Pomeranz is on stage tonight to try and avoid being DL'ed/DFA'ed for a waiver trade situation. If he pitches well, someone will have to go fo get Devers back. Would DD slow walk Rafael all the way to September also? If not who moves, someone with options ? Will Cora deviate from the 13 pitcher staff and go to 12 ? And then you have to account for Ed Rodriguez as well. Looks like a busy September .

See tonight if he can show even the slightest sign of enthusiasm and ability to pitch for the best team in MLB. Drew, try to get 5 innings holding the Phillies to 2 runs. Just a suggestion.

This trade for Kinsler pretty much confirms that the Sox do not even consider Pedroia a long shot to return. Kinsler will be a rental and average at that. Not that Nunez doesn't need some rest, but he was one of the winners in the 2-1 over Phillies. Good for him.
