  1. If Machado would sign for $10 a year and help with the laundry in the clubhouse, i still wouldn't want him. Not enough Charmin for that asswipe
  2. VAZ, showing better patience than certain others, is becoming a grinder. Not a hit but getting closer to Buehler's pitch limit around 100
  3. Note that the Sox have feasted on bullpens from 7th on, or starters on 3rd time through (coming up shortly). The 2 games in Fenway were different because we scored early. Tonight is not atypical for this team.
  4. Nice pitch by Erod. Don't even talk about using EO unless we have the lead. (Buck and Smoltz, sounds like a failed steakhouse)
  5. Or possibly flip Vaz to Leon one hitter earlier.
  6. All in all, Rick P did what he could with average stuff tonight, Buehler is just settled down and our hitters aren't hurting his effort.
  7. Yes he is giving the chance to win. Needs to get this inning with no further damage to keep us going. But lead off runner , now for the DP
  8. 25 pitches by Buehler in the first, only up to 79 by end RS 5th. Who PH's for Porcello in the 6th ? Do you have to save Beni for defense later in place of JDM ?
  9. I was wondering if Rick would have gotten that call had Bellinger not swung. It was a strike but who knows
  10. With some good , extended AB's and a hit or three, we will only have to see 2 more innings of Buehler.
  11. Good to see that Joe West's exhibition of how to call Balls and strikes did not rub off on this dildo ump. It's one thing if the ball might go over the outside front corner of the plate, but to miss entirely is inexcusable. At least the NFL fired one of their weak line judges. Referee's Assoc immediately files a grievance, of course.
  12. Get him out early. Porcello actually wasn't sharp early, just got away with some stuff. Only one or two godd edge pitches. Where's the curveball tonight?
  13. Let's see if Rick can stop it here. Leaving balls in middle of the plate, especially a change up leads to souvenirs
  14. Bradley's play probably made VAZ reluctant to take any chances. Remind me when Betts becomes MVP of the regular season. May have forgotten by then.
  15. This early in the game, I would have let Porcello swing away and rearrange the 3Bman's teeth. Show bunt once, pull back and swing.
  16. Go VAZ right now, break for second. F Bradley if he was running on his own
  17. Nice running game , Cora/JBJr. You needed to see what Buehler could do from the stretch.
  18. Carbon collectors . LA working hard on climate change.
  19. Enough feeling each team out, Time to get someone on base and disrupt Buehler. Porcello shouldn't leave too many of those pitches in the low 90's in the middle of the plate as he did to useless Grandal.
  20. Well, they making Buehler throw a lot of pitches, so there is that
  21. I do wonder about Moreland hittin #3 instead of say, Devers
  22. Far more concerned that the correct Porcello shows up , than any lineup modifications. Hoping the Red Sox timely , 2 out hitting remains and they get the lead again. I can see Rick P. on a short leash , so that a shift to a LH (Rodriguez or even Sale for an inning) could stop a rally or burn Robert's bench as he is prone to do.
  23. I have Porcello down for a 3 run HR, for the Sox , not against.
  24. All year long the Red Sox have totally dominated when the bottom 4 in the lineup were able to contribute. Nunez, Holt, Vazquez, Leon, Kinsler (since July) JBJr, Swihart turned games around when they got on base in front of Betts, beni, JDM, Bogie. It doesn't take much, but a two out oppo field single by Christian was the catalyst for a big win. Nunez's 3 run shot didn't technically win the Game 1 but it crushed any hopes for an LA comeback. Holt pounding the Yankees in a 16-1 rout, etc.
  25. Supports the theory as to having shutdown pitchers used in high leverage situations regardless of inning, instead of waiting until the 9th to run in a closer. Haven't seen too much of Kenley J yet, have we ??
