  1. Try the Boston bats
  2. How did he resist swinging ?
  3. Do you now run Bradley , leaving Leon to potentially lead off in the 10th, or leave it alone and start with Beni, if Sandy does not a 3 hit night in his bat ?
  4. There was that, to his credit. But it will only be meaningful if they win.
  5. 14 K's, 1 run allowed and good velocity after 100 pitches. What can you say ?
  6. Celtics getting smoked like Red Auerbach's cigar. NBA is the one major sport that I couldn't care less what they do
  7. So he does but becomes a Devers clone as a baserunner. Makes the third out at third. The most basic baseball. f*** him
  8. Betts may as well try to steal second.
  9. O'Brien and even Eckersly totally infatuated with Sale's 12 K's so far, oblivious to the fact it is 1-1 with no hitting to speak of.
  10. Sandy slashing it. Can Beni wake up ?
  11. Bradley vs a LH pitcher. Just not fair. can't they adjust the rules for him ?
  12. If you take the first game of this series and 6 innings tonight, the Sox have scored 2 runs. The game they won was a one runner. All this against a AAAA team. They may get to .500 tonight, and expect them to do so, but the engine is not firing very consistently.
  13. Two out single, two out double ties it, Sale may have lost some focus there leaving a change up in the hitting zone
  14. How many times has Sale needed a shutout to get a win ? Looks like another one
  15. Of all surprises, Leon gets a lead off single and Beni, Betts (robbed by bad ump call) and JDM can do nothing
  16. Low 90's , up to 95 on one or two. Good pitch count through 4, but HBP 2 guys and maybe the same for the final K in the 4th
  17. The 7-8-9 hitters are all below .200, although Nunez fluctuates above and below with each AB. None of them has an OPS better than .480
  18. You can see how jumpy and unconfident JBJr is at the plate. It really is discouraging because he has shown the ability from time to time to be an effective hitter. Right now he is an auto out, mostly without any contact except foul balls.
  19. One did. But what is JDM doing ? Had the Hr last night to make me think he had found his stroke, but missed an RBI in the first and that half swing K on a bad pitch didn't much look like Julio David
  20. If Sale K's all 27 on 4 pitches each , he will use 108 pitches to put the O's away. Sounds doable
  21. As previously noted, the Sox 25 man roster has featured 37 players to date, with everyone coming from the existing organization . The 13 man pitching staff ( now with significant injuries among starters) means that the bench consists of Steve Pearce, Eduardo Nunez and sandy Leon. Not one of them is hitting .200 in a part time role. The trade deadline ( not that these guys have value_) is almost 3 months away. How does Dave Dombroski upgrade this team between now and end of July to keep it in contention ?? Or do you wait for reversion to the mean to save the season??
  22. if nothing else, Chavis was a spark and breath of fresh air on a team that seemed lost between Ft. Myers and Naples, without a clue that the season had started. Chavis will struggle as they all have , and like Devers may well have needed more experience. In any event, they have won more with him than without him to date, so keep it up Michael. if and when he goes in the ditch, then the team has options to work with him. His flexibility between playing first and second is already a plus over the "over the hill gang" of Pearce and Pedey, who cannot get on the field despite all our good wishes.
  23. Ok, that was really good, Illinois, you win.
  24. Don Zimmer had a metal plate in his head which Pedro was determined to find. Zim represents all that was wrong with the "old school" of a good baseball man. That basically meant be quiet, pay your dues, stay stupid and lose regularly. Hated that Ex Dodger idiot.
