  1. I read that this morning too, and wondered why the note didn't end with the requisite, LOL
  2. Going out on a limb, but guessing Pearce can't keep up this level of suckage too long. But DD got himself in a corner with this signing. He will be an expensive fail if he doesn't come around, and untradable to a contender if he doesn't come around. Of course, Moreland hasn't yet incurred his annual injury that makes Pearce the insurance policy.
  3. You certainly have that right. The tide may change in a year or two but definitely hasn't yet.
  4. Here's another winnable game against a mid level team , playing in your park Hembree does what he can to make it a comeback win. The BP is not fooling anyone over the course of the season.
  5. i wonder if Tzu Wei looks at video of his AB's. Even on the double his back foot is off the ground and not planted. He will never improve as a hitter if he can't cure that.
  6. Unless the Sox score in the 5th and get a lead, Sale will be almost into May with an 0-4 record and 7.43 ERA. Starters as a group are 2-11. But I think it is the hitters, outside of JDM, who are just as responsible for the slow start
  7. 3 guys in this lineup did not leave Ft. Myers with the team. Beni-Betts and Bogey all hitting below .280. Multiple guys below .200. Not many HR's
  8. I understand that it's a day-night doubleheader but look at that lineup, and their performance to date (with the sample size growing daily) Truly weak hitting from too many guys.
  9. The obligatory HR against for Red Sox pitching
  10. Pearce gets a hit, the catcher's glove. Nice timing , Steve. The OPS must be near .375 now
  11. Somewhat like Betts, the expectation level for Chris Sale is so high that anything but true domination is not fun to watch. His game today is an example of maybe learning to pitch vs just throw hard. We will need to learn to live with that. With the Sox potential on offense, and at Fenway, the problem shouldn't be the pitching.
  12. It was sarcasm. But Sale followed through by surrendering the 2 out laser that scored his walk and stolen base. But now Saale may make it into the 6th inning which is a plus
  13. Betts may well be back. That was a key hit.
  14. Lin making a grateful liar of me. Now for Leon
  15. Lin, Pearce, Leon combined BA of .238 and rarely on base in front of Beni-Betts
  16. By contrast the Tiger pitcher, Boyd, has 13 pitches for 6 outs.
  17. Pitch count at 44. An overrated number but still an indicator of possible length to the start. This one doen't look too good for 6 innings so far. Beginning with the game warm up and between inning throws, most 100 pitch counts actually are closer to 200 total throws by the time the starter is done.
  18. 10 pitch at bat, resulting in a single. Sale isn't freakin' anymore. Then a 3 pitch K. What up, thin man ?
  19. Decent inning with the 2 K's, but a 2 out walk. 22 pitches is not a good pace, and can be a bullpen burner on a day when you need to extend both the starters and the BP.
  20. 3 more outs from Brasier---Easy or hard to do ?
  21. Vaz has found his bat and gets it done
  22. How many mound visits do these children get ?
  23. Well credit Bradley for doing his job
  24. Chavis , like many newbies, will see a steady of curves, sliders, etc until he shows he can hit them . Not much dead red for him to slug.
