  1. Here's the interesting finding on Cot's, unless something has changed recently, Dombrowski's 5 year deal is over in 2019, otherwise known as this year. That could get interesting
  2. Looked it up on Cots and the 2019 and 2020 opt out options are exclusively JDM's. In 2021 and 2022 it is a mutual option depending on a potential Lisfranc or other right foot injury that leads to extensive IL time. Otherwise, you are paying him $23.75 million in '20 , then $19.375 in '21 &'22. He can reject trades to 3 teams annually.
  3. Glad you said that. Getting weary of hearing how this is the best hitter in MLB, most dedicated, works all day and night on it. Maybe he's off physically, maybe mentally but he used to rocket every ball all over the field, but this past month hasn't been great. I will guess that the option is a one way deal in his favor.
  4. I understand why it did not happen, but some of the fringe players/pitchers from 2018 need to be exchanged for others . Nunez, Pearce, Thornburg among others come to mind.
  5. Ricky be well done now. Missing Devers yet ?
  6. Rick looks like he has had enough. One more batter?
  7. A run scoring balk because Vaz wanted a Lipton tea break ? Now we have seen it all
  8. Do you mean the deceased Jim Morrison or the utility infielder drafted in the 33rd round who has .198 OPS at Dubuque ?
  9. Remy says porcello appears to be pitching much better now than earlier in the game. Another long time observation of RS starters is that they are not awake in the first couple innings, give up runs quickly, and the rest of the game is waiting for the hitters to wake up and nail them out. Notably, Brian Jiohnson pitched the opposite yesterday , the hitters came in the second innng, only to have the BP blow it late. It's just not our year.
  10. How many 2019 RS pitchers have blown saves ? I know 3 right off, Barnes, Brasier and Brewer, the Killer B's of the bullpen
  11. Amen on a Sunday. Maybe Moon could give us a 15 year history of every pitcher who was drafted into the organization and which coaches/managers were responsible for developing them.
  12. An urgent update from Jamaih on Josh Smith's life story ??
  13. It appears the lightning has struck Holt's left leg and like the "day to Day" status of Devers starts looking more like a week, except for the PH'ing, the very short bench gets a little shorter. Haven't seen a word on Moreland for quite awhile too.
  14. Not a critique of your correct point, just an indication of how boring this Red Sox team can be on some days. Nothing good going on at Fenway-----yet.
  15. Bogeu and JDM hit the 2 softest balls of the year stranding the runners again. Martinez hits shots one day and bouncers the next, but rarely both on the same day.
  16. A remarkably negative record for this team and its fans
  17. This one has some of the stench of the first 5 innings of many Red Sox games. Can't shut down late in the inning. Top 4 hitters are blanks early. Dominataed by mid level pitchers, play down to a weak opponents level.
  18. Why bother to advise them for free. The next advice will come with a bill for consulting services, DD/AC/JH
  19. 2 strike, 2 out hits will sooner or later bite you. Adds pitches , if nothing else.
  20. 3 hit inning from the lower end of the lineup, lots of baserunning, no score.
  21. Anybody else think that Holt strained a hammy right before reaching the catcher's tag ? Thought I saw him grab it.
  22. I believe he scored , but enough with the details of being behind the Jays early
  23. Nice defensive shift, and failure to control the ball by MH
  24. Didn't see the action, so don't know all the circumstances but suspect you are substantially correct.
