  1. And exactly WTF did Sale have to do with winning the playoffs and WS ? A very nice and rewarding K on Manny Machado was much appreciated but Sale was not a key to the World Series win.
  2. A 50% strikeout artist. he started the 6 weeks somewhere near .290+. Now on his way to the .250's. if this guy is your answer, try a new question.
  3. very good article on The Athletic (subscription ) about an aerodynamic study on the ball itself. More rebound , more smooth skin, lower seams, will fly 20' further on average hit this year. The average HR total by field position will be 20+ HR's this year for all positions. Jung has been correct all year based on the study about the rocketball.
  4. So the 60 day IL designation does not actually indicate a further setback in Nate's strong but troubled arm ?
  5. Tyler did you verify that the Sox win was upheld before starting this thread ? Just checking
  6. Possible correlation : Boston at 43 wins matches 2 other teams (Cubs,Guardians) and trail 6 others (NYY, Rays,Braves, Dodgers,Astros, Twins)in wins. So over a large enough sample (1/2 season) runs scored correlate to wins. Shouldn't be surprising. One team that did not get a hangover from losing the WS to the red Sox are the Dodgers with best record in MLB at 54-26.
  7. Such an easy play at third right in front of him, but very glad to survive that game and even up the Fenway record.
  8. Jackie, make him throw a strike so we can get to Hernandez, lol
  9. Martinez is truly screwed chasing that crap. He does need a 10 day vacation. He will have descended into the .270's in a couple more of these games
  10. Actually, why would you pitch to JDM here // Because Devers is behind him and JD is struggling
  11. Just have a feeling that JDM will bust out and win this one right here in the 9th, and all will be well with the world
  12. Unfortunately, IMO, Nevada has quickly slipped away from its moorings too. Hope he's not a friend but Steve Sisolak was not the brightest bulb on the Clark County Commission in the mid 2000's
  13. Taylor crosses the 20 pitch line and promptly issues a 2 out walk. Cora with the hook, which this time is understandable
  14. Yeah, living in Las Vegas for 10 years gave me a different outlook on many things. Living in SoCal now for family reasons and this experience will give you a totally warped outlook on life in general. The snowflakes couldn't handle Vegas
  15. Best I can tell, virtually everyone here got to AAA, and just missed a big promotion to the show due to an unfortunate turf toe injury
  16. The most untimely hitting team, including the solo HR's we have seen in a while.
  17. That's the second time in a week the Vaz/JBJr run and hit has been a real failure. Big game tonight by Vaz
  18. A three man bench , including the relief catcher , is a serious problem when one of them (Holt) has a minor or indeterminate injury that binds you up even more for a few days. No one at Pawsox who could find Fenway except Sam Travis is part of the problem
  19. Bummer now in his second inning and over 23 pitches. If my thinking is valid, often not, this is the place to beat him
  20. maybe DD called down and told Cora he had just made a deal to move Brewer, but it was off if he walked the hitter
  21. 2 out, 0-2 count pitching is what separates pitchers from throwers. Brewer now gone from 0-2 to 3-2 and gave up a stolen base. Cora pulls him in an unusual move
  22. Yet another example of a winnable game, need two runs and a shutdown BP. The solo HR's are amazingly consistent but don't wreck the other team.
