  1. The result of which is the Sox traded 2 dozen players and have Sale and Eovaldi as residuals for 2020. Oh yeah, and 3 AL Easts plus a record season and a WS title refresher. Oh, and DD may have ignored his staff and been unpleasant.
  2. Andy Barkett, the assistant batting coach, got chopped today. I guess JBJr and Sandy Leon blackballed him. Dana Levangie must be sitting on pins and needles as the FO discusses his role. Brad Ausmus is either a bad individual to lead a team or he got Joe Maddoned. The Angels do not have a clue. Watch out if Billy Eppler's name gets mentioned for the Boston GM job.
  3. And maybe cake and ice cream too, Kimmi. Along with a check in the mailbox for being a loyal fan all year while they fought to reach and hold .500. I don't really argue your reasoned logic, but whatever it took the WS flag will be there when we are done and gone. Win now, tomorrow comes at its own risk.
  4. Cuban players , in particular, have been big misses in recent years. If any doubt about their character and ability , look at the results. let the Cubans live in Miami and take the other latin players to the MLB.
  5. Well for you to be covered in s***, you need to beat the Astros, then the Dodgers (most likely) as we did in 2018. Good luck , Jack. The feeling when you do that is like a shot of heroin in the carotid.
  6. How about just retire, go back to your home, live like a millionaire and GTFOOH ? The worst kind of quitter. No baseball contract should be guaranteed betond the year you fail to show in condition or the next at maximum. Baseball contracts are one way crapshoots in favor of the player.
  7. OK, using the midseason numbers makes me want to package Barnes and Benintendi. On a serious note, does anyone see notable upside in Beni, despite youth and cost control factors, is it easy to picture him at 20 HR's 85 rbi's and .850 OPS ?
  8. Mostly it's the people he coaches who failed to perform well, with a few notable exceptions like Erod and Workman . Also Brian Bannister needs to be questioned as to the lack of development in the minor league system. None of the guys brought up this year showed pitching maturity, , command, control and big upside. Some like D Herndez's LH fastball and as soon as it can be located somewhere in the strike zone he could be good. The best that can be said for the young pitchers in 2019 is that they got exposure and experience at the MLB level, so they know better how to approach 2020 ST.
  9. Let's see how long a period of excellence runs in Houston, Dodgerland and the current NYY'ers (not long I hope) . The Sox posted 2 WS rings from 2013-2018 with an additional 2 AL East titles. Not a bad run. The 2019 season started bad, and never got any better. At least the 2019-2020 winter will contain a lot of commentary material as the reset takes shape.
  10. If someone had told you back in April that Erod would be pitching for his 20th win vs the O's , you would have assumed it was another great season, right. Never assume anything ! Had you been told the Sox would be 83-78 going into the final game, you would have dragged out all the WAR family to prove that couldn't happen to a very similar team that won 108 games. DD fired before the season ended ? Quite opposite ends of a spectrum of possibilities. Truly an anomaly.
  11. I really didn't think it would be possible to buzzkill the 2018 season and World Series but this 2019 version of starters and relievers has definitely done so. Very little good can be taken away from this hot mess, and all the signs are there for a true reset in 2020. Losing to the O's at Fenway is just the cherry on top. Maybe a comeback win would prevent a lost season.
  12. Left for awhile to watch my grandson's ballgame so I could see some good pitching and enthusiastic kids playing. They got 6 innings in while these dregs are still pretending .
  13. You have got to be kidding talking about Chacin being any part of this team much less a favorite in the Latin Quarter of the clubhouse.
  14. There goes Chacin's no hitter, but the pitch count of 1 is low
  15. Got to go out, so good luck breaking up the O's shutout !
  16. Yeah, that 4 man lineup is before they take their physicals in February. The 5th man ?? Looks like Andrew Luck
  17. Not personally, but if you have some extra tix, then ???
  18. Yes, he will be affordable one more time with in the $208M
  19. remember earlier this year when they had a sewage backup in the clubhouse and had to call in a cleanup company. Then they let the players back in and you couldn't tell the difference. ( See what I did there)
  20. You could get 20 starts by early August when your arm develops flesh eating bacteria from the nasty showers in ancient Fenway.
  21. Could we trade Betts for Wojo ? If we did, you could be sure Wojo would lose 20 and hurt himself.
  22. His arm may be in better shape than our 3 Aces. We could haave fun with which Luck will show up tonight, the Good Luck or the Bad Luck ?
  23. How ironic that Henry and Werner talk about getting the fat sausage down to $208 million, while they get to watch the Rays and A's competing to play in the ALDS or more.
  24. Being shut out at unfriendly Fenway through 6 by the Wojo O's . Have a nice year home crowds.
  25. That looks right . Good thing Beni F. Tendi is in that mix, but wait to see who the other 15 are when they break ST next year
