Some have commented on the Yankees needing to play Monday as a benefit to the Sox. Maybe, but mind you, it's the Angels flying coast to coast NY for a one game match with Gerrit Cole going for NY . This is as close to a forfeit win as the Yankees may get . The short 3 game set with NYY will say a lot about the Sox ability to compete again with a hot team ready to bypass the Sox in the WC race . The team needs to take 2 or all 3 of the games to push the Yankees back in their place.

Schwarber and Dalbec might regret not scoring anybody with bases loaded. Erod is not that tough a pitcher that the O's will fail hitting the rest of the game.

The concerns are serious. Schwarber is undeniably hitless since the trade was made. Gets a chance with the bases loaded and extends his hitless streak, not even deep enough for a sac fly. Kyle has gone horribly wrong

This just in, Schwarber still hitting ZERO since the trade deadline and Plawecki leads the team in BA among semi-regulars. At least Vazquez may recover his strength for the occasional appearance after his leave.

Valdez's ERA went from about 3.80 to 5.61. 2 HR's and 7 runs. He must be trying to get the game to a save opportunity

Valdez comes in with a 19 run lead and gives up a hit, then walks two. That would be enough to disqualify any pitcher from a team's future plans. Phillips can't find the plate with a search crew
