  1. That K by Xman shows exactly how difficult MLB pitching can make it for any hitter.
  2. Doesn't mean much now but 6 of the Jay's 8 HRs came with 2 outs. Sox pitchers could not close out the inning to keep them close enough to win in a comeback
  3. For awhile I was thinking about what would be the moves in late July if the Sox were still within 4 or 5 games of first contending for a WC position. No need to think too much more. Trade the veterans like Renfroe for a low A pitching prospect , and bring up a couple guys from WooSox to show them the postgame meal spread at MLB level..
  4. The simple fact that Ryan Weber's slopball is your long relief tells you all you need to know. I contend that this is a .500 team that had a nice 9 game streak early on and now is showing the weakness of the pitching staff.
  5. Big Win, great job in the later innings
  6. Verdugo should be ripping that low inside strike
  7. Top of the lineup, time to win it now vs an average reliever .
  8. Dalbec, thanks, hope this doesn't kill the game
  9. What do all of Cora's apparent favorites have in common ?
  10. Saved by the two catches by Gonzo and Dalbec
  11. Either win it or lose it right here . 3 outs before 2 runs is preferred
  12. Some guys are just professionals in the prime of their career. MVP caliber
  13. This could be the the close that defines Matt Barnes this year. Series sweep, 3rd day pitching, crush the Yankees at their small park, another come from behind. Go get 'em Matt
  14. Great 9th by Barnes. Finally becoming the stud they need
  15. Arroyo is the poster child for why more than 3 fouls after 2 strikes should be a K
  16. Sawamura did ok, but after all, used 12 pitches to 9 pitches work
  17. Gonzales is a f***wit in the field and at bat, of course excusing the 2 rbi's
  18. Go ahead, take at least one pitch each before chopping wood
  19. Correct , 2 straight 2 strike hits after making the hitter look bad both times. Can you picture a tie game?
  20. I'm not an Erod fan because I think he is inconsistent like a #4/5 pitcher, ands he loses his concentration and will to win too easily. But had the flyball to left been catchable at the wall ending the inning with one run instead of 4 total, Would everyone be ragging on his start ? A 1-0 game vs Wheeler would have looked a lot different and yes, I would figure Bogaerts and JDM combined to get at least one hit off him. Franchy hit the hardest ball of the year off Wheeler
  21. Chavis and Dalbec show a similar deficiency that Red Sox pitching development has over the past 15 years. Neither one is a professional hitter, just a big swinger with numerous vulnerable holes. I don't know if another year in AAA would have helped either one but they are quickly putting themselves in the dustbin of Sox position player prospects who came close but no cigar, and little trade value.
