  1. Bogaerts shows them how to do it.
  2. I trust that Duran has been coached by the same people who produced Chavis and Dalbec, none of whom can recognize a breaking ball in the dirt,
  3. If Germain and BP complete the no hit shutout , Sox will be 10-9 for July and have blown a 4 game lead over the Rays . The warts do show up over the 162 game schedule. I think Chris Sale's pending return can't come soon enough to reenergize a sleepy bunch in late July. Having said that the problem is hitting and lineups loaded with AAAA'ers
  4. This just in : Stanton could play for us today and his super cheap "double" yesterday was actually no better an AB
  5. Cordero, Rios etc. None ready for prime time
  6. Red Sox hitters could use a refresher course on recognizing the strike zone. You can't hit a grand slam with no one on base.
  7. Start shifting the emphasis on what is actually good pitching from the #4 starter, to the ineptness of the offense to string productive hitting to get runs
  8. Nibbling at the edges, shades of Erod
  9. This game is far from a must win for the second best record in MLB (tied with a few others) but to me , it has that feel. One to keep pace with the Rays or gain one if the Guardians of culture are suck cessful, and to semi-bury the Yankees especially at Fenway, where the Sox are marginally less winners than on the road (30-20 vs 30-19).. They need to redeem that game yesterday . All the fingers point at Ottovino failing to get the third out timely, but I recall two base runners in the 8th for JDM, and 2 in the 9th for Kike, with no results.
  10. It would be interesting to know if other teams ask Bloom about Verdugo in a trade scenario. I imagine the answer is NO but what does Bloom know .
  11. Devers is a great bad pitch hitter, Verdugo, not so much
  12. Do you think they will consider a serious extension big contract for Judge. I'm sure Boone is gone and Chapman may not be far behind.
  13. Has anybody noticed Chubby Tito ? He hasn't missed a postgame meal in two years. Maybe he's on steroidds for his health conditions
  14. look at the BA's in the Yankee lineup especially Sanchez and that prick Gardner, .217 and .199 respectively. How could we ever lose to this bunch?
  15. 2 on in the 8th, big time hitter up, no run, 2 on in the 9th , lead off man up, no runs. Lose game
  16. 2 outs in the 8th and it all goes to crap
  17. If you are having trouble hitting, then play some good D
  18. Terrible missed call on Chavis, BUT some guys come out of the dugout to the on deck circle already down 0-2 . Dalbec and Chavis come to mind
  19. It's the gold plated lead he's carrying around his neck
  20. 44 pitches in 4 innings for Nate. Now class if Mr. Eovaldi performs at that same pace for 9 innings, does he get the W ?
  21. I wonder if Duran and Vazquez swap base running tips in the spare time ?
  22. Duran semi-creates a run and Devers picks up #80 rbi. Some good stuff happening today
  23. As good as this season has been, it is still mathematically possible for the 2021 Sox to end up losing 100+ games, and to lose the season series to the Yankees . Not likely, but just warning the negative Nancies out there that all things are possible until the numbers move a little more, as with a 4 game sweep of the dumpster divers from the Bronx
