  1. The truth is that I could not care less about Matt Barnes and his abilities or lack thereof . He's having a nice season, even made the A-S game. The problem now is that your team needs an outstanding effort to pick itself up. Pivetta gave that outcome. The position players did not take advantage of that effort and Matt just threw water all over it with one pitch.
  2. At least Barnes didn't have to work up a sweat . He can now come back in Game 2. lucky us. I despise that s*** thrower
  3. F'ing 2 hit shutout thrown at them . Saved for 6 full by Pivetta's similar gem.
  4. Nick has done all he can do to give them a chance to get off the losing death spiral, but nobody steps up CLUTCH. Think for a second, Dalbec works a walk !!!! Arauz follows with a hit. Then silence
  5. After a great 5 2/3rds, if this gets blown in a 1-0 game , then I'm not watching after 7 innings
  6. Worst possible outcome on Hernandez, but I guess a DP would be worse
  7. No, can't bunt, but can hit !!
  8. Reminder this is only 7 innings , twice, today so the ability to blow up is reduced. In the interim Sox cannot buy a hit.
  9. Sox have scored 13 runs in 5 full games plus 3 innings today beginning August 1. Opponents have 28
  10. Great summary. I had a thought watching the Tiger's series along the same line . Peculiar hitting trend for no apparent reason. Is Cora getting payback??
  11. The double no hitter continues through 2 1/2 innings. Exciting AL East pitcher's duel featuring Nick Pivetta and a guy named Ray
  12. Pivetta making a strong bid to get the first man up in inning 2 out, Bichette. \ Finding success, one batter at a time. Nick actually looking good through 4 hitters so far 5 outs and counting, looking like a no hitter coming up
  13. This is actually ironic. All of us here can comment, criticize, praise and cheer the lovable losers on, but Chaim Bloom and Alex Cora wake up (if they actually could sleep) and actually do something about this hot mess. How would you like that job today ?
  14. I am especially thrilled by f***wit Perez's quote " That this is a good thing to happen ( I presume the losing) , so we can wake up " Just leave , loser , and go wake up elsewhere.
  15. And Rendon just got the rest of the year off for the Angels after 2 prior IL trips. Injury is not the player's personal fault but the big contracts rarely end well
  16. Was Heart available at the deadline , was Bloom interested , what did he get instead ???
  17. There are times when just a single can make a difference . Our best hitters have had that chance time and again over the past week but are in a synchronized slump.
  18. Dalbec is truly jinxed. Hits a rocket and it's an At'em ball
  19. A reversal of JDM and Bogey in the sequence would have produced a run . JD's pitch appeared inside and I would trust his hitting "eyes" except for the tendency to chase that low outside slider in many other cases.
  20. Trying a pick at 2nd base should be a pitcher's 39th option of what to do
  21. Now Sox have to get 2 or more r5uns to take this game back. Kike and Devers lead the way
  22. Hard to imagine Miggy Cabrera with an OPS, now below .695 , k'ing with bases loaded . Note to self, avoid long term expensive deals with players over 33
  23. Hit them hard , hit them soft, doesn't matter just put a ball in play to get a run. The RS dugout could use that technique sometimes
  24. At least that's a different way to load them up. Perez is total horse crap, and about to blow this game's possibilities
