  1. Checking to see if his wallet bounced out
  2. Robles is probably one of the dumbest in a box of rocks but he shut down the .167 hitter. Congrats. And there are still 6 more outs to get, how many walks is that, oh and then, there is another game to play today . Better be a complete game win
  3. I haven't seen Cora pitch yet, but I did seee him bring in his best non-closer reliever who f***ed up followed by his best LH'er who f***ed up , followed by one of his two worst who actually got one out
  4. Definitely with you . Establishing the first pitch strike is so fundamental for a reliever
  5. Except for Whitlock's exceptionally bad command of the strike zone. You know at least one of those walks will score
  6. But did he touch all bases and the plate ?
  7. The so called sinker is actually a 2 seamed fastball , gripped with the fingers running with the seam direction. It" slides' horizontally. A change up sinks because it is released at the point of a fastball but the full palm/finger grip imparts less speed and a slight reverse spin causing it to drop, different action than the 2 seam FB
  8. It is quite obvious that Montgomery's direction is to throw stuff out of the zone and make them chase. The Sox hitters need to make him throw called strike one until he starts coming into range
  9. Game 2 because this one isn't interesting to them
  10. Montgomery threw exactly one strike out of 7 pitches. Kike did change his approach after chasing the first two.
  11. Here it comes, Tanner. Do you feel lucky ? Obviously not. Velasquez was hitting .176 until he met Tanner Houck
  12. Looks to me that his big wide delivery is very inconsistent on release point leading to the ball going all over the place. A form of overthrowing and losing control
  13. If that new guy Schwarber can only DH , which pushes ace defender JDM into the OF, you can only speculate the relative overall gain.
  14. How many soft pops/flies can Vazquez launch in one season. He looks very beefy, probably hampers his base running
  15. Surprised Schwarber didn't repull the hamstring on that strikeout
  16. JDM , back to chasing the low breaking ball. No reason for 2 in a row.
  17. It looked like an opportunity with no one covering third base, and took an excellent throw from Voit and a lucky slap tag to catch Renfroe. Outcome was not good but it wasn't VAZ like
  18. Devers looking like Ozzie Smith at SS in the shift
  19. Change of speeds. A pitcher's best friend, that and a DP
  20. Did not happen. Rays walloped the O's as we did, and the Yankees made the 2-1 first inning score stand up through 9 innings. The Angels are useless.
  21. Angels go up 1-0 in the top first, and immediately give it back on a 2 run HR by Gallo. Rays get the Orioles tonight, hahahahahaha, dropping a 1/2 game right now
  22. Agreed on burning Cole, and if the Angels get a win in NY then I'm buying ice cream sundaes for TalkSox
  23. Some have commented on the Yankees needing to play Monday as a benefit to the Sox. Maybe, but mind you, it's the Angels flying coast to coast NY for a one game match with Gerrit Cole going for NY . This is as close to a forfeit win as the Yankees may get . The short 3 game set with NYY will say a lot about the Sox ability to compete again with a hot team ready to bypass the Sox in the WC race . The team needs to take 2 or all 3 of the games to push the Yankees back in their place.
  24. Schwarber and Dalbec might regret not scoring anybody with bases loaded. Erod is not that tough a pitcher that the O's will fail hitting the rest of the game.
