  1. I guess you get your stats when they come available but I'm watching some stat padders who don't come through when it matters more
  2. Dalbec for his 20th, what a move to tighten this game up. Actually glad for the not so young kid, he suffered previously, as did we.
  3. Not sure why you are still here, Splendid, but I don't want to miss the 8 run rally. Ok, it could happen. It did to Phillips Valdez , right? Who does he pitch for?
  4. Cash is frustrated with the Sox. He cannot get his closer any work so the guy needs a bullpen session .
  5. Freaking Peacock got that ERA down into the mid 15's in a superlative junk stat effort
  6. Toronto taking care of business on NYY again, but luckily we are matching the Yanks 3 game Losing streak.
  7. Peacock has that ERA down in the 17's, a major move from his previous 24++
  8. It would not have played out this way, but had Peacock not have put 4 runs of gas on the dumpster fire, the Sox theoretically would only be down 8-5 with 3 outs to go. Anytime you are within a 3 run HR or GS of the opponent , there is a slim chance you can come back. Theoretically that is also true of being down 100-0 . It's not over until the 27th out
  9. Peacock may be the answer, once he gets warmed up a bit. Stick with him Alex.
  10. Peacock gives up 4 meaningless runs in a blowout and Cora leaves him in for the 8th (ok by me) to work on reducing his ERA . It's down around 22 now
  11. Gee whiz, that will really mess up the advanced metrics and make this team look worse than they are, NOT.
  12. The real problem with this game is that many people in different formats have actually paid money to watch some total crap play by the Red Sox, featuring many pitchers you could go see in Worcester. This is a fraud
  13. I've seen incapable , stupid pitches but that one to Cruz may be the record holder
  14. Here in the first week of September with 21 more to go, why does anyone care about reaching the WC level, or even winning that game. In any event you will wind up playing these guys who will make you regret that low achievement.
  15. ERod has already cooked this team tonight but at his pace could cover 5 innings at around 100 pitches. That leaves only 4 innings of relief work . Not quite a quality start but I think Eddie tried hard.
  16. It always is perplexing when the one guy who can bomb you turns out to be the guy. As if the pitcher had no idea. Cruz, like Ortiz , is my idea of a DH. He was available this year but we already had a DH
  17. Can Iglesias do something useful, like get the run in with two outs?
  18. Renfro is a classic Fenway RH hitter. The RF foul line is a freaking no man's land . They really out to rework that seating to prevent possible injury to the players racing towards the line.
  19. It may not be a repeatable skill like clutch, but the Rays have clearly mastered bunching hits one after the other.
  20. The lights going out may be in the light towers
  21. 22 to go, last 10 =5W's-5L's . Next 22 will be 11-11. It is what they are especially with the Covid IL's and a worn down, inconsistent pen.
  22. Dalbec is interesting , if nothing else. His defense appears to rate poorly at 1B, 3B should be no easier for him. But if someone told you about a 6'-4" RH hitter with power to play 81 times at Fenway , hitting .240 with 25 HR's and 80 rbi's plus with favorable team budget control for multiple years as a bonus , you would likely take a hard look. With some D work, and better plate discipline which there are some signs of, Dalbec can/will hold the fort while determining if Casas is the future answer. Possibly a platooner with Schwarber (if signed) , and a PH when needed.
  23. Any team that will go $60MM/4 years for JDM needs to rethink their overall plan. Only AL teams considered, not sure who has deep pockets and only one hitter away from a title. I wonder if the rule on options is that the player has to declare first to opt out before he can negotiate with another team ? The NBA makes a farce of that provision but MLB may be tougher since you are technically under contract until you are not. It's binary .
