  1. This minor league pile of steaming crap is making our guys look weak. Pours medium FBs down the middle and they wind up looking at them
  2. BJ's blowing out the O's, and Angels up 4-0 on M's.
  3. 39 pitches , including pounded changeups, Sale doesn't look good for any more than 5. But it's the hitters not the pitchers responsible for the late season low scoring trend
  4. This streak of failed rallies is actually inexplicable so I won't try.
  5. Angels jump to a 2-0 lead, which means nothing with Maddon's crew
  6. Sale not looking too sharp. Took more than 9 pitches to K the side in first
  7. Nothing happening in Washington. Need to go to a wedding (not my own), so fellows, you are in charge of scoring some runs and offering sage advice. Get it done !
  8. But needed a flyball not on top of the pitch. Bogey missing the FB in the upper part of zone would have been ok as a flyball too.
  9. Nothing new there, potential big inning against a s*** pitcher and DP'ed to death
  10. If motivation means the same as clutch, momentum, and trending to the Sox as it does to us, the players should have it today with a chance to tie the Yankees going into #162 tomorrow. Can they suck it up and do it ? About to find out. Spoiler Alert: motivation hasn't worked for them much lately. Must be a trend
  11. Rays being the Yank's daddy, up 12-2 in the 7th. Makes feel so bad for Sterling and Waldman having to suck that tailpipe Lowe with 3 HR's and 7 rbi's
  12. Means went all of 2 innings, 6 H, 6R, 3HR's. He was only "mean" to the Sox.
  13. Love to see Cole get burned up, so he is not available if the Yanks make it to Fenway
  14. True, under various scenarios the WC game could be with Jays or Yankees, but in any case at Fenway . One critical element is the Red Sox winning two games in the immediate future. The Orioles series and the Yankees one before that where the boys lost 5 of 6 still smells like a huge steaming pile of manure
  15. Correct me if I am wrong (and I'm sure some will). If the Yankees lose today and RedSox complete a sweep of Nationals, then no matter what the Yankees do Sunday , the WC game goes to Fenway where we have 6 outs to use after the top of the 8th finishes. Kind of reminds me of '78 .
  16. A reasonable choice , but mitigated by the fact that today is not an elimination game . Sunday may become an elimination game and Monday or Tuesday will be one. Further Sale is not exactly the stopper he has been in the past. I think getting 5 decent innings ( 2runs allowed) is about all he has right now. Having him and EO both available on Sunday is the better course. In the end , it may be good second guessing fodder for the long winter because I stick by my mid season assessment that this is not a team likely to catch lightning in a bottle and beat any of the other contenders in 5 or 7 game series.
  17. Speaking of BP's, in the course of a great win last night two keys in our BP managed to give up HR, fortunately solo shots. Barnes and Ottovino are strange birds .
  18. Trust me , from local experience in SoCal, anytime you get a key win from the Angels is a gift from God him/herself ! Keep an eye on the LAA closer (?) Raisel Iglesias, with 34 saves on a 76 win team. He is a low profile FA this winter. Not a true stud but could fit in the BP, maybe at a reasonable 2 year contract.
  19. It's beyond time the offense just busted out the bats and jumped to 8 runs in 3 innings . Today may be the day......or not. 23 runs in the last 7 games going 2-5, Win today and game 163, at a minimum, is assured.
  20. ANGELS win over the Mariners Friday night, so we are one up on M's and BJs and one back from NYY. Just sweep the Nats and see what happens.
  21. ANGELS BEAT THE MARINERS 2-1. Head into Saturday 1 up on M's and BJ's
  22. The 6-0 win over the O's should have carried over to Thursday's game but obviously did not. Take the win and be glad. Very rough finish but I noticed the Standings only count W's & Ls, not style points.
  23. Wander Franco strikes out with the bases loaded top 7 in NY, ending the inning
  24. About time for Devers to get hot. He's been missing in action
  25. 2-1 top 7th, Rays up
