  1. Hard to knock Hill at his age stil pitching. The fact that he's out there isn't his fault. Sale can't get ready quick enough and then you still don't know what you have. Wacha is another reclaim project. Over a full season he's a fill-in at best. Whitlock---is he a starter or not ? Who knows what the pitching roles are here. Paxson--He could actually get p[aid for the whole season and never throw a pitch in competition, then has an option to get paid next year.
  2. Angels DFA'ed Mike Myers today after another weak relief outing. Watch out if Chaim gets an itchy finger.
  3. Dalbec can stretch it out to shorten that time for the ball to reach first, so there's that
  4. Basically he pissed all over his win opportunity , and told Cora it was raining
  5. Or fouling hittable pitches and taking strikes on the edge. Hate to dump on him, wish him well, but this is not an MLB hitter you can carry at a power position. He is not improving this year, and waiting for his "hot straek" requires more patience than even Cora and Fatse may have. My guess is they will carry him into June and let Cordero keep working at the position
  6. My expectation for the Sox is to reach the .500 mark ( or better) after the May 31st game. Trusting they win tonight they will need to win 4 of 6 against the Orioles ( 5 games) and the Reds on the 31st. All 6 at Fenway , better get to .500 boys.
  7. Yeah, Dugo picks up Story, nice. Verdugo's hit ( &rbi) leaves only Arroyo (.519 OPS) and Dalbec (.483) in the sub .600 range. Kike needs to move up the chain a little more (.614)
  8. Wacha did a nice job of challenging Dugo to avoid a bad start to the inning, then promptly cleaned house on a couple pitches. Let's get some offense together again
  9. Perhaps then we should score more runs, especially with the middle of the lineup batting like last inning. Wacha needs a true calm down inning here
  10. Vaughn could not have hit the ball to a worse place from the RS perspective. Just about max damage.
  11. Wacha getting everything up and hit hard
  12. Wacha in deep need of a DP. His pitch count could be disappointing after this 3rd inning. Advice to Cora---do not let this 6-0 lead drift away
  13. i contend that the #9 hitter should not be the weakest bat or lowest OBP, but should be considered a leadoff type with a decent chance to get on base in front of the 1-2-3-4 hitters. Hide you Dalbec type at #8
  14. But it's still early for Cano, so like some of our guys he has room to come around, just not to the Red Sox thank goodness.
  15. And walks, don't forget the walks, oh and the 400' screamers caught on the dead run by the wall, those too.. This dimwit is skating on melting ice.
  16. JDM must be taking sprinting lessons from Vazquez. Running like a Deer(e)
  17. May your symptoms be mild and quickly passing. Game could be a rainout anyway, getting the off day cycle updated.
  18. Notice that once Cora pretty much stabilized the lineup and halted the frequent day off policy, the hitters have come alive or stayed that way ( Raffy, JDM, Bogey) . Now if Dugo wakes up his bat, and Kike just gets on base at a.310+ clip, that is one long and dangerous lineup.
  19. Truly amazing the that this team of mostly veteran players can have had the April-early May run scoring drought, nicely followed by the mid to late May rampage. Hope we get 2 more months out of this run .
  20. Please note that Matt Barnes is displaying all that is wrong with him. 16-3 lead, he walks 2 uses 27 pitches , due to his lack of control. His mechanics, particularly on the overthrown FBs are very bad. His curve while a sharp breaker is often spiked in front of the plate. He is a hot mess and of little use to this team if it recovers to the point of strongly competing to pass the BlueJays. No confidence vote from here. Matt must actively not pay attention to his coaching and just is a lost soul with respect to baseball pitching
  21. Porter is saying I have watched 259 pitches so far , 19 runs and there is still 18 outs to go. Enough, already
  22. Alan Porter has concluded that the RedSox have enough runs, and therefore if the pitch is anywhere in the vicinity of the strike zone, you better be swinging
  23. Other than for practice against a live batter, why is Pivetta throwing a majority of misplaced curveballs, rather than starting with the FB ? I guess Abreu is the reason
  24. Moncada's numbers now worse than any Red Sox regular, including Dugo.
  25. I think JD gave the weighted bat to Verdugo
