  1. It's not even a rant or unhinged bitching, but this game is so typical of 2022 Red Sox. Get men on base, leave them there, a couple mental mistakes, starter can't even get 5 innings, bullpen can't close a 2 out, 3-2 count, walks all over the bases , Devers and JDM can't find the pitch to hit . That's just the reality, another winnable game in jeopardy of being Bello's 4 th straight loss.
  2. I'm probably wrong but Schreiber has struggled his last few outings.
  3. Jerry Meals, poster child for robot umps
  4. I realize that the Sox were in a shift, but there was no one at 3B to receive a throw from McGuire. How far away was Raffy ?
  5. 4 innings and Bello loses his cool. Has a lot to learn.
  6. I thought there were some signs on the just completed homestand that JD may be ready to rip for a month, but that was a pathetic AB. Maybe he should just play home games and not travel.
  7. Really do need to give Devers a few days off. He is not helping the team or himself if his hammie is affecting him. He may be devloping some bad habits as he compensates.
  8. Bello shows some cockiness and attitude which is fine with me, but he needs to know that he needs a lot more experience before he can start showing up umps and other players. He could be a keeper in the Red Sox system if he keeps maturing and becomes a more refined . He also needs to be more efficient so he can get at least 6 innings.
  9. HP Ump Jerry Meals has not missed too many meals but he has missed too many of Bello's strikes. And don't tell me the old fart is teaching the young pitcher a lesson by squeezing him.
  10. And LOBs, thousands of LOBs.
  11. Did anyone actually think Kennedy could do anything but attempt to quiet the fan rumblings ? Was he going to say, with a month to go, that he was thinking of replacing them ? No, if they were going involuntarily, you just go in and fire them , sort of like Sawamura and Davis.
  12. As were the NESN TV guys ( OB/ECK/Millar)
  13. Maybe part of the MiLB system could include English as a second language for some of the international players to help them .
  14. How did that pitch not get called a strike. chUMP time
  15. is that a witticism from a half-wit ??
  16. Sandy Leon and his .145 Ba still catching for a WC contender? There's hope yet
  17. Brayan "The Donkey" Bello vs Dilly "Al" Bundy for Minnesota Bello still looking for MLB win #1 , after 4 starts/2 other appearances . Big time ERA but of more concern to date is the WHIP of 2.09, even with 22 Ks in 22 innings. Brayan's last start (8/24) vs Toronto showed much improvement, so expect good stuff from him tonight. Bundy at 7-6, is not a K pitcher with only 77 in 108 innings, but his WHIP is at 1.21 for the year . He's the type that can make the Sox struggle if our hitters don't show patience and hit'em where they (Twins) ain't. The BP mainstays should be available tonight, if needed. Sayonara Sawamura and Davis.
  18. So is it safe to now say officially from the FO, that this season is over and September/short Oct will be tryouts for some organizational candidates ? If so, why ORT , we have seen his non-stuff ? Kelly is a retread already, though with no MLb experience. When you pass through both the Angels and A's organizations and can't break through, you have a limited future as a 27 year old newbie. Maybe the bigger question is why makes moves at all now ? This is not a desperate attempt to win the next 34 games. These are moves that should have been made August 2nd, after trying like hell to trade one or both of Sawamura and Davis for literally anything who could walk and talk or read signs.
  19. Sawamura DFA'ed after the game. The interpreter had to deliver the message. Red Sox FO and Cora getting tough on these guys. Actually preparing for call ups to 28 players next week. And Austin Davis apparently right out the same door by noontide Monday
  20. Rays say screw you, Sox. Our catcher is a better reliever than your bullpen. And we didn't score against a 45mph thrower.
  21. Moon, I bet 2 of them show up at ST as non-roster invitees ( if not traded ). However, neither of the 2 will make Opening Day. The 3rd will be pitching in Japanese League
  22. Listening to Ob, Mazz, and Eck trying to put lipstick on this pig of a game is a great example of spinning the story to misdirect the facts. Pivetta was not good and Sawamura and Davis behind him making it worse. Oddly enough, Brasier kept the Rays off the board in his inning.
  23. i would only send them to the moon, so they can be recalled more easily when we need to get below the lux tax next year
  24. Davis gets an out ( finally) on a snatch and grab by Dalbec circling under a foul pop
  25. By this time of the season, these marginal pitchers are worn down and have no mystery left . Hitters wait to pound them.
