  1. Sox take advantage of TX errors, bleeders etc. Usually what happens to us. Can Bello stay in control on top of his excellent 5 innings so far. Focus and concentrate Brayan, get your win
  2. How about some run support for Bello this time around?
  3. Brayan Bello still looking for W #1 . Today is the day !
  4. Splendid my buddy, you are on a roll. Keep it going and let's win what is left.
  5. Some people are lucky and learn all they need to know in kindergarten. Personally, I have gained much knowledge on life and humanity right here every summer since the one where the team won 108 regular season games and the 4th WS of this century.
  6. No one and i mean NO ONE has complimented Ryan Brasier on his SEVEN pitch shutdown inning, so here it is. Braman---you are a 38DD buddy. Notice also how guys like Danish, Brasier and ORT do better with 8 run leads instead of 1 or 2 runs, sometimes 4 or even 5. whatever
  7. The signing was fine and essential for this year's BP. Strahm has done well, not so well and had some control issues. What do you pay him next year as an FA ? He'll probably want 2 years at $7.5MM total.
  8. Is that one of thwo catchers for 2023 ? Glad to see that bomb to get Connor started. It went a lot farther than most of Mookie flyballs
  9. Meh. I will say I'm delighted to see Arroyo at first base and hope he keeps it up. If the does, better him than one of those old guys I've heard mentioned. He is absolutely awful in the outfield, but pretty darn good anywhere in the infield. If Bogey stays, Arroyo gets 1B. If Bogey goes, Arroyo maybe goes to 2b or SS. Agreed on 1B. Not going to learn much more about Cordero nor Dalbec this year. Arroyo gives us a better shot at winning day to day. It would be nice to see some of Casas after elimination in prep for winter hot stove and next ST.
  10. 2% chance at GS; No DP; 38% K
  11. Bogey ran that infield bouncer out with more energy and intent than a September callup anxious to get his one entry into Baseball Reference. He deserves whatever he gets from whichever team
  12. Seven right bats against Texas lefty starter Keuchel, who might not last long. Not a bad call either, by Max
  13. One thing that we all thought of was highly evident in Dever's run from 2nd to home , including no attempt to think of a slide (if needed). The hamstring is tight and is sore causing a hitch in his git-along. That has to have altered his thoughts at bat for all of August. Did he need ten days to rest in lieu of a month of poor hitting ?
  14. I'm glad for Devers and especially the team--But which is the smaller sample, last night and tonight (5 ABs) or his prior 24 ABs'. Where the f*** was he all of August when the team had a shot ( still do, yes). Sitting him would not have been a cure-all but is not out of the norm, even by Cora in the past. The point is he needed an intervention internally or from the coaching staff. I surely hope he got it and continues to do well. Then they should sign him to a keeper contract with some form of outs.
  15. Do what, Max ? It's all a crapshoot and crapshooters play the game
  16. This young guy Rafael D may have a future somewhere. Notice that he has adjusted his swing from violent hacks to smooth swings going both directions, using the whole field. Somebody got to his head and the results are great.
  17. Pivetta got walloped in the calf with a hot shot to the mound, got the out but could barely walk himself back to the dugout/clubhouse. It could be a nasty contusion.
  18. I think one of the questions for teams east of the Pacific Time Zone is whether Ohtani wants to be away from the West Coast. New York ( Mets/Yankees) will probably be interested but so will the Dodgers, maybe Giants.
  19. He actually played RF in 2021 when the Angels lost a couple guys to injury, one of them the IL'ed Trout
  20. Yes, he actually does. He has 11 this year in addition to his 30 HRs and 82 rbi's so far. Oh yeah, he has 11 pitching wins and a 2.78 ERA on a way sub .500 team. He is the real deal and will be looking at a $500K/12 year deal after 2023
  21. Note: Tavares in CF made a terrible break (back first, then in) and could/should have dived for that. What did he have to lose? I thought for a moment we had traded Duran to Texas
  22. I assume you skipped Ohtani because he has 6 tools, maybe more
  23. When dealing with Devers, I would give him big bucks on whatever length contract he wants, AS long as there are options for him to walk( 3/4 yrs) and Boston to stop the bleeding if he falls off his bike after 5 yrs.. And allow trades after 3 years, maybe a limited list of all NL and 5 AL teams
  24. It worked very well (MVP caliber) in 2018 . Forget the Covid short season, nobody did well for Boston. But his production has clearly declined . The WS year validates the contract worth, but could it have been 3 years with club options. not player options?
