  1. Your numbers make a strong argument for Pedro and I believe no pitcher in baseball history had a better season than Pedro had in 2000. In 2000 Pedro led the AL with an ERA under 2. Placing second was Clemens with an ERA over 3. I'm still going with Gibby as my number 1 with Pedro as a very close number 2.
  2. Big Papi just hit one over the SOX BP.
  3. I agree. Wacha has to be one of the priorities.
  4. The Cards had a better rested Gibson, who is the best RH pitcher I've ever seen. No disrespect to Pedro, but Bob was greater for a longer period of time. Hell, Gibson was one of the main reasons MLB lowered the pitching mound Btw, if I'm not mistaken, in Lonborg's 2 wins against the Cards in that '67 WS he gave up a total of 3 hits. He was amazing.
  5. He pitched after his accident, but he was never as good. I believe he was 25 in 1967.
  6. Good news for 2023: Wacha, the SOX best starter, should be back. Bad news for 2023: Wacha isn't going to be the guy who will be available every 5th day like a Pivetta.
  7. Years ago I liked the euphemism used to describe ineffective pitchers. They were referred to as 'innings eaters.' Wakefield during his last couple of years was called that a lot.
  8. Only seasoned SOX fans would know who this is in reference to.
  9. I believe Franchy is still young enough to change sports. He has the build of a guy who might have a shot at football.
  10. I certainly hope that Sale doesn't decide to take up skiing in the off season.
  11. You can never have too much bad pitching. SOX motto for years.
  12. Great hustle by Arroyo, but one should never slide into 1st, especially a fragile person.
  13. The SOX have finished last since 2012 with large payrolls. 4 times I believe. One should be used to the embarrassment.
  14. I often wonder what does a pitching coach say to a guy who can't pitch?
  15. I'm thinking the SOX have had more injuries than wins this season.
  16. Something a firm manager could have put a stop to.
  17. The idea of making Sale a closer isn't a bad one. But here's the big question; will Sale agree to go from starting to closing?
  18. Complete blame to Bloom for trading VAZ, while the SOX were still in the PO hunt. I don't blame Bloom for not trading JD; no team wanted him bad enough.
  19. Bloom is part of the problem with help from JH, but he can't be blamed for lack of production from two of his highest paid offensive players, and the invisibility of Devers for quite a while. He also can't be blamed for Story on the IL.
  20. I know the SOX are near the bottom in total HR's, but I'm guessing they may be near the top in Hans Solos.
  21. It's over. The game definitely; the season probably.
  22. If Devers keeps this shite up, he'll definitely be more affordable.
