  1. My only concern about Wacha is his durability. No doubt he's a very good pitcher, but will he be available every 5th day? He's definitely worth taking a chance on going into the future. It ain't like the SOX have a closet full of talented young pitchers waiting in the wings.
  2. Can't help but wonder when Yankems' FO goes into full panic mode and fires Boone.
  3. No reason the SOX shouldn't re-sign Kike. His plusses, imho, outweigh his minuses by a big margin.
  4. Mazz mentioned the SOX had hit only one HR in the last couple of weeks and then along comes Kike.
  5. That's fine, because I would feel the same about Cora.
  6. Arroyo and Dugo have been the SOX best hitters for quite a while. Dugo since early May.
  7. If only Arroyo could stay healthy, the SOX FO could save a lot of money on a 2nd baseman in 2023.
  8. Nope, serious as hell. Of course, you didn't like VAZ either, so I don't know where you're coming from.
  9. Here's a thought. Maybe the SOX FO priority right now s/b to try to sign Dugo to a long extension. He's the 2nd best hitter on the team and he's only going to get better. It wasn't his fault that he was part of the irreplaceable Betts' trade.
  10. Keep in mind that Bradish has a 6.19 ERA, but that should have little effect on the SOX offense.
  11. At least the SOX will have Plawecki leading off the top of the 3rd.
  12. Maybe the 'Captain' thing made Raffy swing harder.
  13. I believe 15 day and 60 day IL players should be placed on Workers Comp.
  14. Pham's injured. What took him so long?
  15. Good news! Extra Innings is televising this away game on NESN. Yippee.
  16. Interesting stat on YES. Since 2005 only 5 different catchers have hit over .300. Right now Toronto's Kirk is batting .304.
  17. I agree about Devers trying to carry the team. For some reason he has this thought in his head that he's the only HR hitter on his team. Oh, wait!
  18. Since July 1st only the SOX have a worse W/L record than the Yankems in the AL East. The SOX are worse by only one game. The O's have the best record since July 1st.
  19. Speaking of getting older, it appears the Yankems' Cole may be aging quicker than the Yankems originally thought.
  20. "Fugghettabout it." For a brief moment I had Cora being Italian.
  21. Cora: "OK, JD, you're in the line-up today." JD: " Thanks, Alex, but I'm really not helping the team." Cora: "You can say that again, but it wasn't my decision. Orders from the FO. It's not a good look to have our highest paid batter not playing." JD: "Btw, Alex, my birthday's tomorrow." Cora: "I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. I'm thinking of a present; ok, for your birthday tomorrow I'm gonna let you bat clean-up and play RF." JD: " Won't that reduce the team's chance of winning?" Cora: "Fugghettabout it. I've already done that today. Your birthday's much more important." JD: "I love you, Alex." Cora: "I know. All my players love me, except maybe for REF, but he'll come around."
  22. Maybe some other team will pick him up. The SOX can't be the only organization that 'dumpster dives.'
  23. Hey, Vegas, maybe we've shamed JD enough for him to homer today. Maybe not.
  24. I think Sale should be as classy as Ryan Dempster and retire.
