  1. Works either way
  2. I think you might have an irrational hatred of Brentz.
  3. I think Sandavol will be fine. The bullpen will get a nice boost if Carson Smith has a successful comeback from TJ surgery.
  4. Out of all the outfielders we picked up he gives me the most hope.
  5. It's probably 37%
  6. It's projected not what he had done, again his sample size is large enogh with that 40 % strikeout rate and 195 career average enjoy him. As a Mariner fan you have every right to be excited about Zunino, I just find it a little odd that you would come on a redsox site and in almost every post knock on a sox player.
  7. I believe we have already signed 4 minor league free agent outfielders. Junior Lake, Bougsevic(might have messed up the spelling) Steve Selsky and now Quentin. Don't think Brentz would return anything he's a dime a dozen.
  8. Hopefully he stays out of trouble, we need another good pitching prospect.
  9. zunino is not going to have a better career then Swihart you you probably would not get one expert to say that. But you can continue enjoying his 40% strikeout rate and if having a good year his 200 average.
  10. It's a good spot to be in to ave three major league catchers, looking at the bright side Swihart has the tools to be a good defensive catcher, just needs more reps. I think eventually Vazquez will be an average hitter with good plate discipline, but probably will never develop power.
  11. Vazquez is another year removed from tommy John surgery, should be better this year.
  12. I think Brentz is out of options so we are probably going to lose him anyway. Not expecting anything out of Quentin but you never know. Was reported he lost 40 pounds.
  13. It's probably his job to lose and he deserves that, would be surprised if he is our starting catcher in the second half.
  14. Leon looked so lost in September and October, have no confidence in him.
  15. You need to read scouting reports on him and watch his swing and discipline, there is such a thing called scouting . Also look up his second half stats from 15.
  16. I'm guessing they are down on him because of his injury last year, I look at the demand for him this offseason and the sox refusal to trade him. Very new behind the plate if you look at write ups on him most say he should be an above average catcher. If that doesn't happen should have the bat to move all around the field. Sorry do not want anyone in my lineup who strikes out 40% of the time, and this year barely hit over the Mendoza line.
  17. I would be surprised if Leon hits anything like he did last year. Eventually I think Vaz will catch 100 games a year, Swihart the rest, but with the ability to play other positions.
  18. It's worth the flyer to see if there is anything left.
  19. I would be very disappointed if he follows Zuninos career path , since he struggles to get above the Mendoza line, and is a strikeout machine. Projections are wrong quite often, again if you have watched Swihart you should know he is nothing like Zunino and Salty. Rushed to big leagues in 15 because of injuries a year before his time, he was very good in second half of 15.
  20. They definitely missed on Salty, had many holes in his swing. If you actually watched Swihart there is a big difference.
  21. The comparison to Salty is weak, totally different players. Swihart has that pure line drive swing. Salty was all or nothing.
  22. I trust the sox evaluation and their refusal to trade him this offseason. He also has proved he can hit already. My guess is you have never seen him play.
  23. Has done a great job with the Cubs. Broke the team down to nothing and built a world championship team in 5 years.
  24. Overall I believe Theo was a very good GM for us , but he definitely had some bumps in the road. His drafts from 06-10 were rough. but he was the GM for two World Series and his 11 draft could go down as one of the greatest.
  25. Like Theo but he made quite a few mistakes.
