  1. What he contributed last year is already more then Anderson. I think if they thought he needed Tommy John they would have rescinded the trade.
  2. We will get more out of Pom then a couple months of Anderson, and the odds that Espinoza has a hall of fame career like Bagwell are minuscule.
  3. That's a very big if.,
  4. Must have gone into the clubhouse when he wasn't on the field.
  5. That's the 70s, remember Yaz being a smoker also. I can't imagine there are many ball players that smoke now.
  6. That would be overkill and kill any flexibility we have.
  7. Lol I worry too, even at work
  8. Potential problems abound for all organizations when you look 4 or 5 years out. We should be happy and enjoy the sox for the next few years it could be a fun run.
  9. I'm not sure our overall pitching was going to be good enough, with the top three we have now we really lesson the load on the bullpen, all three should be able to pitch over 200 innings and if Wrights healthy he can too. Should make the pen stronger. We still have our whole young core , along with a couple blue chipper so still coming. Understand your angst but still think organization is in great shape.
  10. That's why ithink Ben was the right person to build our farm, we were not at the point in our development to trade Betts, Bogey, Etc. now that we have that established positional group it was determined it was time to go all in. Probably why DD was hired.
  11. Agree enjoy the team now hopefully things work out.
  12. My dramatic comment was base on point number 3 where maybe we shouldn't draft pitchers anymore.
  13. Kopech was our second pick in 2014. Or high picks have been Trey Ball, Benni and Groome. Looks like we might have blown the Ball pick.
  14. We have to trust our front office and scouts. I really believe our window is 4-5 years.
  15. Being a little over dramatic with your comments.
  16. You do realize Kimbrel and pomerantz are more proven then Kopech, Groome and Espinoza. Don't even know why you are arguing with me. I'm just stating it was probably the right time to go in because where our positional players are in there development compared to our pitchers.
  17. We are going to have to make some hard decisions in the next few years on who to sign to long term contracts. Some fans are going to be very disappointed because we won't be able to afford everyone. It makes it very important for Benindenti, Devers, Groome, Travis to develop as we hope to help offset some of the losses. Going to be very hard to restock the farm without the advantages of the past, hopefully we find the new advantage.
  18. If you look at the Cubs they also have developed a great positional core , but the difference is either through great scouting, analytics or coaching they have Arietta and Hendricks who have exceeded all expectations. But even they needed to hurt their farm in the trade for Chapman ( which I believe is worse then any of the DD trades ) in order to win the series.
  19. I love prospects I follow the minor league boxes every day during the season, but I have to disagree with you. This was the right time to cash in, we have our young core in place, but our pitching was not good enough to win, by the time Kopech, Espinoza and Groome are ready our young guys will be in the later years of arbitration and starting to hit free agency. Our problem has not being able to develop pitchers, and its far from a guarantee that our young pitchers will reach there ceiling
  20. Not a big fan of Ockimey really had a bad second half last year, Chatham I have hope for. The thing with Raudes is he doesn't have great stuff, but has great command these type of pitchers usually are underrated. No matter what he is a wildcard, curious to see his results this year at hi A at 19 years old.
  21. Agree very high hopes for both but after that a bunch of relievers and wild cards. Two prospects that do intrigue me are Raudes and Dalbec they both can jump in the ratings next year.
  22. After all the trades still have 3 top 50 prospects, shows how deep our system was. To bad we don't have much after the top 3.
  23. Keith Law, MLB Pipeline, and Baseball America all have Benny as the #1 prospect in baseball, that is impressive. The sox never had that before, Boegarts was highly rated but never the consensus #1.
