  1. Here's a good read. https://robaseball.com/the-value-of-first-pitch-strike-percentage-bde51e64df8b
  2. Johnson getting hit hard today, 3 HRS, in 3 innings, all solo that's the good thing. Devers got a hit but made his 4th error, this his 8th game. Devers 3-3. Ended up 3-4, Pawsox lost 3-0.
  3. Dallas Keuchel pitched a Rehab last night against Lowell. 5 innings 3 hits, 1 run, 0 BB's 5 K's. He should do good against them.
  4. Groome gave up a Grand Salami. Happens, what concerns me is 4 BB's in 2.2 innings. 11 BB's in 16 innings, that's not good.
  5. Shaw is hitting .297 with 70 RBI's, DAMN! Didn't know he was Drafted 2 times by Theo, he must have really liked him.
  6. Funny thing we talk about Pedro, he jumped 3 leagues in 1 year at age 19, went from A+ to Triple AAA, in one year. Dodgers got kid named Walker Buehler who did the same thing this year, only difference 22 years old. Drafted from Vanderbilt. Reading he's hitting 101 with and unreal Curverball, and Slider. That organization just keeps pumping out Starters. Too bad they lost Urias, kid had a promising career. Shoulders are the worst, he might be done I was reading. Forgot Manager at Oklahoma City said that's a slow gun. Wow!
  7. I would give all new Drafted kids an Incomplete, for at least 2 years, before you rank them. Some make adjustments when they get to Professional, some not mature, some from different Countries, not used to our customs. Even missing family could affect a kid. Even College kids should get incomplete, when your making a living against others that are doing the same, different animal. Tons of variables. Busses, Motels, Food, long new schedule, you have to adapt to. I think after 2 years, you start seeing how a kid is maturing and progressing against other Professionals.
  8. Groome is one, what has he done. He's 19 years old, just out of High School, very little professional experience, what's he ranked, and why?
  9. We'll see, you comparing Espinoza to Pedro?
  10. Great Post, been saying this for years. I don't go by BA, or the other guy forgot his name, prior to the Draft. Perfect Game for me, run by Scouts. You pay but get good stuff. On that site they said Espinoza was destined to be a Reliever, will have hard time to be long term Starter. Don't think his arm would hold up for an entire Major League season as Starter.
  11. Brentz has been one of hottest hitters for last Month and half, always like bring up hot bat,(last 30 days .303, and .308 against Lefties). Anybody notice Lin played CF yesterday?
  12. What I saw in yesterday's game was Sabathia went 5 then the BP, shut them down. Did not even use Chapman. He's all set for today. Girardi knows how to work a BP, to keep them all rested. As a Sox fan I'm keeping close eye on this.
  13. Forget Votto, 33 years old with that Contract. Stanton now were talking.
  14. All I'm saying don't give up on Travis, he's always played against competition that was much older than him, plus he had bad knee injury. Power comes.
  15. I remember when Schwarber got Drafted, he was projected to us at 27, Theo Drafted him way ahead of people thought. He's hitting pretty good bombs with Wooden bats, in the Majors. Travis is hitting for average right now, Schwarber is swinging for the fences.
  16. Travis and Schwarber were dynamite at Indiana, Travis only had a few HRs less than Schwarber. In about same amount of games, not buying he doesn't have Power.
  17. Good, this kid is a good hitter. He's still coming back from knee injury too. Last 2 years has only about 400 at bats. At 22 he would have been starting 1st baseman for the Pawsox. Injured most that season.
  18. That's scary, if our evaluators see this. Pennington hurt most of year, losing Dubon who many have followed in his Minor League Career, saw he hit everywhere he's been. Shaw first year in the bigs not too bad. Dubon was SS with that great Salem team last year, and now he's all the way up to Triple AAA. The first 3 batters of that Salem team last year are no lower than Triple AAA.
  19. I do too. He went to BP for extra inning game against the Yanks. But that game showed me something too. He looked good for 2 innings, then the Yanks hammered him. His best days are behind him. Nice guy, but either BP or time to move on. When you hit the 100 game mark, losses are killers, not enough games left to make it up.
  20. Pretty good, shows the importance of Bullpens, in todays game.
  21. Our average start after 96 games is 5.9 innings. Wow. Thought it would be a little higher. If Sale wasn't here, we would be really low, in average start.
  22. This is what scares me, after the Doolittle and Madsen + Robertson and Kahnle Trade, nervous that DD will overpay for Reliever. I'd work the Farm next 11 days, see if kid there can do the job. Glad Workman is back.
  23. Mata goes tonight. Just turned 18 in May, got to have patience with this kid.
