  1. Interesting stat on Rick, when the Sox score 3 or more runs for him he's 10-0 with a 3.69 era, and the team is a perfect 13-0, in those games.
  2. Sean McAdam made a good point, Swihart had a good game for not playing for awhile. Those 7 innings caught, in a big game was encouraging. Especially his first Pitcher he caught was Kimbrel, who is not easy.
  3. I guess you don't understand the explanation. You hit a ball, with no out, and go to third and get thrown out that's not smart baseball. Count the outs. Your at 2nd ground ball to 2nd baseman same thing. You don't take that chance. Going to 3rd is fine if your 100% sure with no outs, you get thrown out that's dumb. No Old School it's common sense. Triples are the hardest hit to get in baseball.
  4. That's a good spot, and shows him confidence. He goes to right a lot, and works hard not to Strike out, I'm with you Kimmi.
  5. Bird does have a nice swing.
  6. Rule of thumb never make the 1st or 3rd out at 3rd base. Reason why baseball people have been saying this probably for a 100 years. Your in scoring position. Simple, and if you do go you better be 100% sure you'll make it. The extra base is not as important as the out.
  7. That was a huge win, cause looking like Orioles are packing it in for the Yanks. 1 run games, take a look at what play either physically or mentally (usually mentally), made a difference. 1 run games are usually the difference in a winning or losing season. Yanks don't have to face Bundy or Gausman, we do. Nice Bucky. Bundy pitched Tuesday, next start should have been Sunday, he pulled him for Jimenez. Bucky hates the Sox, he'll play that series like 7th game of World Series. I know first worry about Tampa.
  8. Wow, Hanley hitting .188 against Lefties, this year. Moreland .239, I expect that. That big drop-off by Hanley has hurt this team this season. 29th in the Majors with HRS against Lefties, in that park, that's a crying shame. 27 HRS for entire year, for HRS against Lefties. Of course some games on the road, but still. Guardians lead baseball with 65.
  9. Hope I don't jinx him but Pomeranz looks really sharp.
  10. Haven't put the Hammer down on the Yanks all year, had plenty of chances. Still feel going down to last weekend. Now is the time Farrell better get the lead out, and think Play-off baseball and end it, like Cleveland. Month ago Twins were 2 games back.
  11. Here's why at least to me. http://www.espn.com/mlb/team/schedule/_/name/bos/boston-red-sox Sale is lined up for the last day with 4 days rest, just say Astros are fighting for best record, and Sox and Yanks are tied (or game behind), on last day, they go with Sale, and we lose, wont have him for Wildcard or Play-off. Just throwing scenarios out there, next time a runner is thrown out on stupid base running play and might cost you a run, and a game. That's how close baseball is, now. You absolutely play for the moment, but if that moment is stupid, could cost you for the future.
  12. It is an absolute necessity we clinch the Division in Toronto, or earlier.
  13. Last 17 games Yanks play 14 at home and 3 on the road against Opponents with a .489 winning percentage. Sox play 8 at home 9 on the road, against Opponents with a .487 winning percentage. Yanks basically just played 3 at home too, against Tampa in NY. Tampa plays us tough in Tampa. Keep an eye on this. I'm not counting my chickens just yet. Every game now huge.
  14. Guardians leading 4-1 top of the 6th going for 21.
  15. Yanks could have a real young infield if they keep Bird, in a couple of years.
  16. From I'm reading between the lines Hosmer is going to ask for big bucks, so might be out with this. I Project him to the Yanks, made for that Ball Park. They can move Bird in a Trade for Pitching. I'm surprise Hanley only has 262 HRS in actually a 12 year career. Averages to close to 22 a year.
  17. Hope Sox resign Nunez. By no means I will compare him to Pedey, but I will compare him to Holt. Who probably after arbitration this year, will be making close to 2 million.
  18. Pedroia 56 RBI's 92 games. Hanley 55 RBI's 121 games. I would have batted Petey Clean-up and DH him more, to rest him.
  19. Sox 10-31 with RISP in this series.
  20. Nationals only 3 behind Dodgers in loss column for best record. WoW!
  21. Moustakas ok, Hosmer better Ballplayer. You only looking at HRS? Before this year Moustakas high in HR was 22. That was 2015. Hit 20 once before that in 2012. He avg. 23 HRs for every 600 at bats, or actually 590. PA is 645. Hosmer is 20 for 600 PA, but the big difference is Hosmer drives in runs, Hosmer drives in 88 on average, Moustakas 72 a year. Even this year with all HRS Moustakas has, Hosmer has more RBI's. and hitting .323. If Sandoval got 19 a year, get ready to pay a lot for OK 3rd baseman again, when not needed. That's my point you got Devers. Moustakas is not that good a fielder either. He's OK, nothing special. Anyway probably resign Moreland anyway. ha
  22. Votto 34 today, with 6 more years and a 20 million dollar buyout. Sorry just too old, and expensive for me, in one of best hitters park in baseball. Papi at 25 million a year at 34 years old for next 6 years I would have been nervous. Trade your best for Votto, might as well go for Stanton. Try trading Votto later if he slips, with that contract.
  23. Remdog and Eck with OB, its gooooood.
  24. JBJ almost over ran it.
  25. Hosmer has 3 Gold Gloves, Moustakas was not a good Fielder early in his career. He is better, but your not getting Gold Glove there.
