What are the chances of Porcello being offered a contract extension?

Doubt it, trying to rid of Salary. Also think we wont be the big Spenders again like with DD. I think Bloom makes a conscious approach at keeping the Sox under the Luxury Tax, while he's here. Just spending to the Max without going over, should be able to get you good talent. -
What's more telling is if 29 other Major League teams don't take a chance on Ockimey.

Players not protected at the Minors 2 years in a row that pretty young, its absolutely about the numbers and talent. They don't feel he will help this club, at the Major League level.

Dalbec hasn't played 1 Major League Game at 3rd. Devers not 1 Major League Game at 1st. Complicating things not smart. OK to throw anything out there, as just Fans I guess. At the Major League level who has played who has played 320 games at 3rd, vs. a Player that has played 0 there. Rather have one player start, at a new Position at the Majors. Easier.

Yep, time to move on, and put Dalbec at 1st. He'll never beat out Devers at 3rd. You would be stupid moving Devers to 1st. You don't make 2 moves, all you need is one.

Only go by Minor Leagues,. Bird .281 BA, 54 HRS, 334K's in 1349 AB's. Ockimey .239 BA 81 HRS, 675 K's, 1951 AB's. Double the K's for only 27 more HRS.

2 years in a row for Ockimey left unprotected, 2nd regime saw that a .100 hitter against Left Handed Pitching that is not a good fielder, probably hoping someone takes him, so Dalbec will move over. 137 K's in 377 at bats, last year. 25 HRS probably only reason he's here. Might be let go all together.

From everything I read on Bloom, he's huge on WAR, does Mookie's WAR equal to 30+ Million, and will it project it for the term of the contract? Calling Harmony, you there?

If I were Jeter and the Marlins, I would give 30+ Million to Mookie. He'll turn it around.

Jerseys never though about that one. They trade him, they will become a collectors item. Then they will market Bogey and Devers ones next. That's the way the cycle goes. Always someone next.

For every good long term Contract like Manny, what's the ratio of bad ones. 10-1 you think? Don't know just throwing a number. If you think that is pretty accurate, then its a 10% chance signing Mookie long term, is a good gamble. 10 years how many WS, he can bring back you think? 3 because of his domination, then I agree its worth it.

Lost Fisk, Burleson, Lynn, still OK in Stadium, even back then, might have a little drop, but they will come back, always do. Baseball is dying on TV because of length of game. Been a Fan since 1960, very hard to watch entire game anymore, even with Mookie.

Angels need Trout for Fans, Sox can survive with this Fan Base, that has been generational through the years. They will still come even without Mookie. You think the Stadium will suddenly be empty or Big Drop-off if Mookie is dealt. I don't. First little winning streak the Gates will be full. I think Bloom is betting on this, and his philosophy is he can have a competitive team without huge spending on players. That's all you need. Not one single player in Baseball, can determine if you win a WS. Still a team sport.

Maybe, but 90% sure not from the Sox. Bloom big on analytics, and he'll compare through the years, if long term contracts are good investment for team, throughout the contract.

You Trade E-Rod and Price, you better get something good back. I figure with just about everybody saying JBJ is gone, they will have salary to now talk to Mookie.

The thing I keep hearing up here in NE, is that the Sox will have to move a good cost controlled player to move salary, in a Trade. Mazz, said Vazquez, E-Rod, and Benni, are supposedly on the table. In other words Price plus some money, and say Benni for Prospects, and maybe a Major League Player. Take it for what it is worth, something to think about.
