  1. Sam Kennedy said yesterday, "We've proved we can win the World Series with the Highest Payroll in MLB, and we proved we can have the Highest Payroll in MLB and win 84 games". That's pretty telling.
  2. Talkin Baseball last night, Mazz, Merloni, and Tomase said they wont be shocked if JBJ, Betts, and JD are gone. Just passing what I saw. Team can still win 84+ games without them, according to them.
  3. Sox having a huge promotion for next year on the tickets on site is picture of Devers, Bogey, and E-Rod. Funny no Betts or JD.
  4. Only good thing about games is Remy and Eck. 3:30 Alabama on thank god.
  5. Please get this season over with, so we in New England can start watching some teams, that play.
  6. Gets to start the arbitration process. Made 4.3, I expect Double.
  7. Sox eliminated from the #1 WC spot. #2 could be as early as today.
  8. Maurico Dubon will be coming to Fenway tonight. Thanks DD. Hope he does good.
  9. Nice Spoiler win, a little Payback at what they did to us. Build off that.
  10. Here a Top 10 HOF's to ever play the game. One of the best. Vital to 3 WS Championships. OPS .784 BA. .303 Career What is it? One of the greatest thing about baseball, is you can be a great Ballplayer, and a winner, without just hitting for Power. He'll you can vital if you don't hit but play Great Defense.
  11. Combining Stats always has me skeptical. Rather compare each stat separately. Then I can rally compare the true stat. Combining number shows me at least you can play with numbers. Guy has a terrible BA, but a good OPS has me skeptical. What is it, can he hit, or cant he? Can he do the simple thing of making Contact. If all your looking at is Power, then that is too one dimensional to me. Can you imagine all these Great hitters who could do both hit for Average and Power, did just one thing, swing for the fences. Ted Williams probably never hit .400+ Mays and Aaron hit 900 HRS. Boggs and Carew probably 30+ HRS guys, Rose at least 20. Don't go by slump, go if he is 1 for 20, go by if the one hit was a HR, and he had 7 walks within those 20 at bats, with 8 strikeouts. Then look for how many Left On Base for those 20 at bats. Because batter didn't make contact. Which lead to losses. Just as soon look at all separately, did that for years. Not too hard to figure out.
  12. Right now with Cora I don't know how good Cora is, or how bad he is. For me its like starting all over again. His team went from one extreme to another. You get an A in a Subject, but next year you get a F in same subject, are you a C Student? (Just keeping it simple doesn't mean that was grade) Next year is probably the telling year now. Better to Gage him. Only 2 years Managing after this season.
  13. Guerin Austin has really matured too.
  14. Tell you though E-Rod really has matured. He keeps this up, Price is in trouble, for #2 Starter.
  15. HAHA, like it. Your the Colts Fan right?
  16. Gorky really smoked that one.
  17. E-Rod is ridiculous getting to 1st. Constantly too.
  18. What was that the deep Post-Season, that's funny. Astros won the WS after they won 100 games, then won 100+, played 5 less games then the Sox, and they will win 100+ games again this season. Come on Folks, your better then that. Those 5 games were brutal.
  19. Back to Baseball you start slow of course its no good, the only difference you don't have only 12 games or less to turn it around, like the NFL. You have time to recover, and get back into it. Like the whole season is over in April. You have to crazy to give up then. Now if they keep repeating like in April, throughout the season you have to look at 2 things, Players, and Coaches. This team did that all year this year. Kept repeating being mediocre. Don't want to hear about injuries, everybody gets them. Good teams get over them.
  20. Probably the Butler thing, you could argue. But, when we lost Jones before that game really hurt. Jonathan Jones is very underrated. Had a great SB this past year. By the way Undrafted FA signed by the Pats, they will find talent. Real quick the Pats haven't been 2-2 or less in Dec. like last year in more then 12 years.
  21. An average NFL practice today in training camp is 2 hrs. With very little contact. Very little padded practices. 2 a days are gone. The guys are not in Game Shape for hard contact. Your not going to waste them in Pre-Season, when you can do like BB does, use Sept. as a Training Camp. Because all the teams are behind because the Players wanted it. Man is a genius. Different sport, from Baseball. Cant go by a sport, that is way, way more physical. Most don't follow the Patriots, their important Months start in Nov. and December. Been like that for years. Not how start, how you finish.
  22. Offense without Pitching is useless. Its nice, its like Driving a Golf Ball, but in the long run you'll lose. The great Golfers can do all 3, Drive, Approach, and Putt. Pitching, Defense, Offense. Seen too many teams that weren't the best Offensive teams, but had great Pitching and Defense, and they were always contenders.
  23. Everywhere I read including MLBTraderumors has Betts making 30 Million in arbitration, at least he'll be asking for it.. If that's the case get ready to blow big big bucks to sign him. Steve Adams on his chat said this yesterday, and he's another one of those that's pretty accurate. Can you imagine About 105 million for 4 players. Price, Sale, Betts, JD. About half your pay-roll before they hit the Luxury Tax threshold, just for 4 guys.
  24. Guys going by DSL stats and saying DSL Prospects are over paying. Crazy. Any unreal Prospect there is so young, no Team would get rid of them, especially if they go to the real Minor Leagues, starting in Single A, and start dominating. Never. DSL and GCL are good to see young talent, but not the place to say he's the next Pedro. Pedro never had any problem going to any league and dominated, against any age.
