  1. 2013 team Ben built was OK, it was the years after that screwed him. Should have kept that thumb up there.
  2. Since 67 we had 9 losing seasons and 1 season .500. Not bad at all.
  3. Sandy Leon gone to the Guardians.
  4. 67, 75+86 Sox made WS and took it to the 7th game. Those years were killers. Be happy we won. And won 4. Thought I never see the day. Before 67, many here would have committed Suicide, we were so bad. Back then Trades, Signing others (Not FA's), and Farm did it. So actually today you have a tool, to get better fast.
  5. Baseball right? They have done good, with many different players that contributed.
  6. Even LSU is going to have a hell of a time beating OSU. That team is really talented. Vegas has them at 39% to win it all, followed by LSU at 29%.
  7. https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/dodgers-have-prospects-trade-red-sox-mookie-betts-and-here-are-names-you-need-know Article by Tomase.
  8. I think we think its all about Bloom. Me I think its Henry. He sort of said it last year, if we cant win with the High Cost were spending now, it makes no sense, to keep adding money, and not getting better. Won one WS, yes, but the decline on last years team, with so much money into it, his philosophy might have changed. Maybe we invest more into development. In Baseball today if done right you should be able to do both. Contend and develop. You spend right to the Cap, without going over, you should have a pretty good team. Bloom has never had that much money available, all the way to the Cap. You should never go over I feel. That's a huge Cap.
  9. You guys played us tough the other day. I expected that with Bruins going back-to-back. You guys just didn't put the hammer down. I was real nervous. Coaching needs improvement. Caps have always been our sore thumb...for years. They are good, and I respect that team a lot.
  10. Seam McAdam article this morning of 3 FA's the Sox might target. 1st base Jose Aguilar (Bloom Traded for him) 1st base Greg Bird-(Minor League Contract) 3rd base moved to 2nd. Jonathan Villar, maybe take a cheaper 1 year deal. According to him they will be moving Dalbec to 1st Base, to learn it. And told Josh Ockimey if he finds another club, they will release him.
  11. He's also smart if you develop, and save even more. Way, way, more. Fans will be pissed off, seen it happen before, Fisk, Lynn, Clemens, others. But a nice little winning streak, and the Fans will show up again. Its the Red Sox. They cover all of New England lot of territory.
  12. Maybe its me, and from what I read, but I get the feeling the Sox wont be going over the Luxury Tax, for a long, long, time.
  13. Sox have one advantage over all the teams in Boston, they have no competition, nothing but Baseball, in the summer. Fans will always show up, its generational. If Boston had another ML Baseball team, then it would be interesting. Maybe the Celtics if they get to Finals, now that that the NBA schedule seems to end in July now.
  14. Bruins going exact opposite of the Sox. Getting younger, next Off-Season, money, and they are only getting better. Coyle and Wagner got extensions, Don Sweeney is doing a fantastic job. They play the Rangers today at 1.
  15. Pomeranz is one of the most unpredictable Pitchers there is. He's all over the place. Big gamble with that guy. Might be Koufax, or he might be Brian Johnson. haha Getting back to Johnson. Don't go by some games, a this point with Pomeranz. Lets see a whole season with him, as a Reliever.
  16. GM's in Baseball should follow us common folks, who have to Budget. The phrase if it's too good to be true, then it isn't. Happy Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful Day!
  17. You think so? That's an easy one. He averages out to a 200 inning Pitcher, never hurt. Go to National League, with a Big Park, he's a steal at 10 Million a year for 4 years. He'll just turn 31, in Dec. Pomeranz went to a Park that is safe for him. Only did something for a little while this year. Pomeranz just turned 31, a few days ago. He stunk as a Starter in SF, (an excellent Pitchers Park), only when he was moved to BP, he did a little. This is a No Brainer.
  18. Feel bad for Johnson, he had talent. Stinkin injuries, are killers. Hope he keeps working, to get back. Sometimes you find a Pitch, or something little you do can change the whole outcome. Sox needed that open spot on the 40 man roster.
  19. Saw Johnson in Double AA, thought we really had something. Then arm problems. He hit 95 easy, with a good Curve. One year pitched 145 innings 132 K's and only 101 hits. 2.13 ERA. Then the arm injuries. What you saw in the Majors, was nowhere what he was in the Minors. He threw very hard.
  20. They value the Open spot on the 40 man Roster, more then Johnson. Different regime, different evaluation, of him. Probably back to Pawtucket. Maybe make it back.
  21. 1 year 1 million dollars, would you resign him. I would.
  22. Chris Sale and the start of his new deal, plus injuries, make him impossible to move, unless he shows he's OK. And if he is OK, I just keep him.
  23. Absolutely, this move does everything. Might be able to grab some decent Prospects too.
  24. Thing about Porcello, I think teams offer him more then I think we could match in years and money. He's valuable Pitcher to many teams, just because of health alone. In that Hitters Ball Park, he pitched in, he doesn't have bad career numbers. Some team with more of a Pitchers Park, might offer him something. I would, wont break the bank, and will go out there every 5th day. 2 years at 28 million with some incentives, is a good deal for Pitcher like him. Also a contract like that is Tradeable too.
