  1. Hard to go against Saban.
  2. Nope disagree, saw both, in the Minors.
  3. Devers got lighter, and it improved his footwork. That was his only problem before, if he had bad hands, that would be hard to fix. Instincts were always there. That's why it would have terrible to put him at 1st base.
  4. Cardinals have been one of the strongest Fan Bases for many years, not just because of Pujols. Long, long time.
  5. Get your Popcorn ready, tomorrow's LSU-Alabama game is going to be special.
  6. I understand that with the Opt in of JD, the Sox have Approx. 133 million in 7 players. Correct?
  7. Easier to Trade arbitration, then contracts. Especially when the Player is a Talent. Next year Price will be a 5-10 guy, then really hard to move him.
  8. Mays was built like a NFL Halfback, that dude was one of the strongest ballplayers ever. 170lbs, looked like 200lbs, that's what muscle does, I saw him in Shea at batting practice at the Cage, (they used to let you into Park 3 hours before game time to watch that), Mookie is not even close to that built. As Mays got older he got slower too. Mays was a pure wrist hitter too. Very powerful wrists. Hit one of the longest HR's I ever seen at Shea, off Seaver.
  9. Bruins are playing very good. Hate the Canadiens as much as the Yankees. Only a Hockey person can see why this is equal. Islanders are hot, but it looks like the Capitals got their Mojo back.
  10. I'll watch the Rendon situation, this Off-Season.
  11. Everybody here should be glad we Bloom. He loves every alphabet there is for Sabermetrics. WAR, FIP, SOB, DOB, anything. The computers will be working overtime this Off-Season.
  12. It would shock me if Bloom throws a huge Contract for many years for Mookie. Something that is not in his DNA. He got rid of Longoria. Different GM or whatever he's called. I can see a 5 at 30, maybe, maybe up to 35. Never handcuff the team, after 1st 5 years., with the last 5 years when he should be declining. If the Stat nerds that he uses big time, tells him that this will be the trend for Mookie, no way he is offered a long term contract. Harmony looking for a job? ha
  13. With 3 teams he cant be Traded too, (contract), figuring its the AL, plus wont deal with the Yanks, No NL teams, how many teams might want him? 5? Will have to eat money, looks like, if we were to move him. Rays, O's, KC, A's, Guardians, don't look like they will want a expensive DH.
  14. According to Sean McAdam, we are over 208 Million right now, counting Arbitration, (1-3 years of service time), and 15 million in Players benefits, and rounding out the Roster. This without adding anybody at the moment.
  15. Eovaldi throughout his career has been a teaser. Always shows you a lot, for a brief period, then stalls. Another one don't fall in love with him too. Hope he does like he does in Tampa, and move on at Deadline. Hope he has a Cy Young year, and still move on. His history tells you too.
  16. Don't do anything at the moment, on Price. Use him to your advantage. Hope his injuries are behind him, and he excels. Keeps you in the hunt. Then move him at Deadline. Don't fall in love with him. Goal is not to pay much of his contract, and get some decent Prospects to a team, looking for a Pitcher, that might need a 2nd or 3rd Stater. Patience.
  17. https://985thesportshub.com/2019/10/31/mccarthy-the-nerds-cost-the-astros-the-world-series-and-it-was-glorious-to-watch/ Good article. For me at least. 3 Games on the Road to the Super Bowl (and win it), in the NFL as a Wild Card , is right there, with what the Nationals did. Just individual's perspective.
  18. Yes, but if he turns it around, not only will he might help the Cubs, he's an excellent Trade chip. Relievers, at the Deadline get the best returns back.
  19. Guy like this I give him 1 year, with a team option next year, this year pretty cheap. Reasonable, and hope he has a great season, and Trade his Ass, for Prospects, sell high, and get guys, to other teams, that are not getting Rentals. Fastest way to build a Farm, use guys who have had good seasons, but maybe down year or 2, make it reasonable Contract, in case they stink, but hope they get hot again, and Trade them, just keep Trading them. Don't fall in love with any, the Goal is the Farm and the future.
  20. These statements by McAdam was before anything about the JD situation, they are cutting Pay-roll. He's there and those guys have good inside info. Sources. That's how I take it.
  21. They will. Who says they wont, just not going to be spenders like everyone is used to. Try to get value, with analytics.
  22. Think about this Holt had a nice season, and made only 3.575 million, and he might not be coming back, because his salary might be too high. That's the mindset you have to have this Off-Season. Follow the money.
  23. Sean McAdam says Maybe we bring back Holt, and Porcello. At Very Reduced Salaries. That's it, who's a FA for the Sox.
  24. How Much?
