  1. Thanks Harmony. Hope you beat the A's the last weekend, they will be playing hard, Get your Mariners in right direction for next year.
  2. Here's something telling to me. The Top 30 International Prospects, every team has at LEAST 1 Prospect, except the Sox. Yanks have the #1 overall, and #14. This is unacceptable.
  3. Reading on the Cubs Farm, it has really dropped. Not much there anymore. Close to the Sox now.
  4. Me I'm breaking ground and hiring the First Female GM. Men have screwed it up for too long. We go from one extreme to another. Fresh set of eyes I want.
  5. Bogaerts was signed by the new Female GM, not Dombrowski. Many players like her including Mookie. Another Shaughnessy tidbit.
  6. I imagine you'll have to look at Higher contracts that you could move and get something for. Price, No. Sale No. Eovaldi No. Who's left?
  7. Owner tells him that he want to Lower Payroll, what do you do?
  8. Dan Shaughnessy is real tight with the Sox, and he says one is moving, good chance both. He's pretty accurate with the Sox. Seems since he works for Henry he gets a lot of first hand stuff.
  9. One is moving for sure, 100% sure.
  10. Anyway I'm getting prepared for us to lose JD and Mookie this Off-Season. Up here in NE, they keep bringing it up, they need to lower Payroll, from all the analyst.
  11. We need Scouts from the Dodgers, Astros, Yanks (yes Yanks), and Tampa. Cover everything. Pay their best, in fact overpay, and you save money in the long run.
  12. I'll take Theo over Jed Hoyer, that guy is very overrated.
  13. Don't sign Mookie to a 10 year deal.
  14. Agree, but he had right idea, just probably bad Scouts in that area. From what I hear, the Cubs Fans are starting to get impatient with him.
  15. I pay for PerfectGame it is the #1 site for Scouting and Prospects, unfortunately I cannot post the numbers, how much teams invest in Scouting, (wont let me). So just have to take my word. Just like BSJ. (Boston Sports Journal)
  16. Think about this, last night the guy who started against us was the last guy we developed in the Minors as a Competent Starting Pitcher. He's 34 or 35 years old. Dodgers are the #1 team that invests in Scouting. #2 Houston, #3 Yankees. Sox are #24. With Theo we were #1 for years. He knew the importance of Scouting. You can twist yourself into a knot anyway you want. It Starts with Pitching. Keep it simple. Simple is genius.
  17. Talking about Buxton, he might need a change of scenery, if JBJ is moved. He might be a better CF then Bradley, and he has struggled with the Twins, much cheaper too, and younger. Twins gave up on Hicks, and turned out pretty good with the Yanks, as a CF, when he is not hurt.
  18. Buxton of the Twins was #1 overall Prospect 2 years in a row.
  19. For me no problem if you like going to sites and thinking everything is a sure thing by them. I need more, basically its how they perform as they move up in Leagues and tougher competition and Age that your facing compared to how old you are.
  20. This is an important reading about average age of Minor Leagues. https://sabr.org/research/truth-minor-league-class-structure-case-reclassification-minors Espinoza Trade was a smart move. This year we got rid of 2 DSL kids for Cashner, everybody said no big deal. We should be watching Prado just as much as Espinoza. Espinosa was 17 years old, typical for DSL kids. He was facing kids his age, like High School. As soon as he hit Single A, and started facing kids 4 years older, he struggled. Struggled in both Single A leagues. Special Kids don't struggle, like Urias of the Dodgers. They dominate kids older too. Which is good to gage a kid. Now, you don't want to get rid of him. Urias was 16 when he started his Professional Career, 19 he was in the Majors. Reason, he dominated kids older then him, in the Minors. That's why the Dodgers didn't get rid of him. What smart GM's would never do is Trade for a kid that has small sample size in Pitching in a Rookie Leagues numbers to kids his age, for a proven young Major League Pitcher, with team control. It was a smart move. He used the Former Sox executive who signed him, to his advantage. Please don't bring up Hindsight, if your using it too. Edit: Durran, did fantastic, till he faced Players that were his equal in talent, from here on in, its going to be work for him.
  21. Agree, we backed ourselves into a Corner, mostly because of Long High Salaries. Only very smart signing or extension was Bogey. That was a great move. I want the woman as a GM. Men screwed it up enough.
  22. You need a Cherrington of 2013 this year.
  23. On TV the other day, Mookie is real adamant that he wants to test Free Agency. So you either have to give him a Contract that you will be gambling like at the Casino, especially as he gets older, or move him now, that he is a rental. Time to have move him was past July Deadline, for the good Prospects. You'll get something but not what everybody thinks. Not like a Sale deal, where you will get the other teams Top Prospects. Sending Mookie to a team that was going for a pennant run this year, plus 1 more year next year was the smart move. Now that is hindsight, but its common sense too, since he's not going to sign. And he's been adamant about all year. Now you have to overpay. You wont get the Prospects back that you should have. Your not going to have the money either, and other teams will have by 2021, and not affect rest of Roster. Astros will have 144 million before they hit Luxury Cap penalty, and you get into a bidding War.
  24. Yep, agree, he threw in that Lefty to the Padres, like that too. He gave up valuable assets, that many who don't follow the Minors, that is hurting us now.
  25. He didn't have to throw in Dubon, Brewers already had a strong BP, Shaw, and a lesser Minor leaguer would have worked. Before that good season Thornburg had pitched 2 seasons, 64 innings, with a 3.96 ERA. You absolutely have to know which Minor Leaguers, have a good ceiling, before you deal. Even though we had Bogaerts, Pedey was starting to get up in age at that point. There is no Hindsight if you are a good evaluator. Many teams will not give up a Prospect, because they know the Prospect ceiling. At least the smart one do, if they pay attention to their Farm.
